As best as I can tell from a thread search, only 5 players have Putin, only one of whom has points already (DinoR). So a big fancy funeral in the Kremlin wouldn’t change the standings much.

The husband of a close cousin was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a couple of years ago…it’s hard enough watching him deteriorate, but this cousin is in serious denial about her husband’s condition. 
This is the second time I’ve scored deaths with only a few days between.
I had Christopher Hitchens and Kim Jong Il, who both died within two days.
A month later, I had Joe Paterno and Etta James, only a few days apart as well.
No points until Pratchett and Sam Simon.
I couldn’t go with Etta James, much to my point loss that year.
If you’re talking about more books, no. His daughter will continue to oversee the peripherals and spinoffs - games and such - but will not be writing any Discworld books.

Terry Pratchett finally put me on the board this year; first time I’ve been sad to get points.
So Simon and Pratchett vault me into my best standings yet in my 3rd year of playing. (I did better in year one than last year.)
I’m sad, though, particularly with Pratchett because he was doing well. So well in fact that I almost took him off my list this year. In fact, when I found out earlier today that he died, my first thought was that I might have taken him off my list after having him on in 2014 because he was doing well. Meaning that not only would I miss the points, but moreso my having him on my list meant he lived and my taking him off meant he died.
Of course, rationality tells me that it’s all coincidence, but the whole thing still gave me pause, and I feel, oddly, irrationally better knowing that my list had nothing to do with it.
Oh man, this one actually means something to me. The library building I work in was designed by him, or his firm.

Couldn’t resist comparing our year so far to last year, when only 13 players scored 60 or more points in the whole freakin’ year. But here in mid-March, 32 players have 60+ points, and 13 have over 100.
