It’s been a quiet month on the leader board - the top 75 are unchanged since June 15. Clearly our celebs aren’t eating enough kale.

Another death that I don’t think garnered anybody any points:

Doug Layton did the radio coverage of Crimson Tide football for many years, but is even more famous for being the deejay who, after John Lennon said the Beatles were bigger than Jesus Christ, encouraged fans to burn their Beatles albums in a bonfire. He died yesterday at age 81.

ESPN is reporting that former Formula 1 driver Jules Bianchi has died. I’m on my phone and can’t post a link…but points for me! I’ve gotta stop putting people I like on my list. But points all the same.

Yes, Bianchi has passed, nine months after his accident. That bit of DP research paid off for several players to the tune of 75 points.

Songwriter Wayne Carson, who among other things penned most of the hits for the 1960s pop combo the Box Tops, died yesterday at 72. He authored “Neon Rainbow,” “Soul Deep,” and most notably “The Letter” which in addition to being the Box Tops’ biggest hit, was also famously covered by Joe Cocker.

George Coe, who was one of the first Not Ready For Prime Time Players on SNL, if only for one show, and more recently voiced Archer’s valet Woodhouse for the first four seasons of Archer, dies at 14 points.

The version I heard about the “Not Ready For Prime Time Player For A Day” story was, he was cast to play the father in “family” sketches, but when it became clear that Chevy and Dan could play father roles without it looking too silly (case in point: The Coneheads), they eased him out of the show.

The Austrian-born folk singer and actor who played Captain von Trapp in the original Broadway production of The Sound of Music, died Tuesday morning of natural causes at Los Angeles’ UCLA Medical Center. He was 91.
