Cory Wells was 74.

Saw them perform back in 1989. Free outside concert downtown in my hometown for some city event. The Edgar Winter Group also performed.

I’d have been in old fart rock nirvana!

Story from the past I may have related before. Three Dog Night was appearing at the Big Spring Jam in Huntsville, AL around 88/89. The stage was originally supposed to have some teeny bopper/punk band but scheduling delays switched them to another stage. 500 or so youngsters had crowded around the stage and then these “old guys” (TDN) came out and started playing. The kids hadn’t heard because of the earphones from their Walkmans and non-existence of cell phones/facebook/instatwit etc… As the kids turned to run in horror from the stage:eek:, they were blocked in by 2000+ oldsters. Compounding their nightmare, the oldsters were their parents - who were also singing along word-for-word including every “0oooh baby, baby” from the original songs:D:D.

To the band’s credit, they played their oldies and others from the late 60s/early 70s at the original pacing and lyrics - no extra riffs or jamming. Never had to listen to, “And now for a cut from our upcoming release titled, ‘Crap You Didn’t Come to Hear’”.

Maureen O’Hara has died.

She lived to 95, a nice long life (well I hope it was nice). Here’s a picture of her from back when heavy lipstick was the style: http://www.doctormacro.com/Images/O’Hara,%20Maureen/O’Hara,%20Maureen_03.jpg

Damn. Mrs. McLintock can rest in peace.

Marty Ingels died on Wednesday at the age of 79.

It’s just over a month until the thread for the 2016 DeathPool starts. Where has the time gone? I wonder if we will have any big surprises for next year?

My list of immortals shall live on and on. That wouldn’t be a big surprise though would it?

Jim Morrison. The revelations that he faked his own death followed by his murder will be the second biggest story of 2016.

The biggest story of 2016 will be the dolphins.

If memory serves, I saw them in 1969 or 1970 at Cobo Hall. First concert I ever attended.

and just remember, Jeremiah was a bullfrog.

NBA coach Flip Saunders has died.

Dammit… scratches him off of my 2016 list

psst

Replace him with “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka. He has stomach cancer, and facing jail time for his alleged involvement in his girlfriend’s death.

Might as well. I had Jake the Snake who now seems to be clean, sober, happy and healthy. That’s one hell of a turnaround. Damn him.

Ah, so I should put every famous 18 y/o I can find on my list. It will be like shooting fish in a barrel. Except, there would be a problem regarding the scorekeeper …
