Mic Gillette, the trumpeter/trombonist who co-founded Tower of Power and appeared on numerous other artists’ albums, has joined the “ultimate supergroup” at the age of 65.

“Jihadi John” Mohammed Emwazi the MC of beheadings of ISIS/DAESH was declared officially dead.
Now the twist: “The U.S. military said in November it was “reasonably certain” it had killed Emwazi in a drone strike.” I did not have him so it may had been a pointless death.

ROME (AP) — Ettore Scola, one of the last greats of Italian film, has died at age 84.
RAI state radio and the ANSA news agency say Scola died late Tuesday at a Rome hospital after falling ill on Sunday.
Scola, who started out as a screenwriter, won best director in 1976 at the Cannes Film Festival for Brutti, Sporchi, Cattivi (The Good, Bad and Ugly).
But he was perhaps best known for We All Loved Each Other So Much, his 1977 tableau about post-war Italy, and the Oscar-nominated A Special Day featuring Marcello Mastroianni and Sophia Loren as neighbors who meet during Hitler’s visit to Italy in 1938.
And yet another rock legend is gone at age 66. Known throughout the world…but he died unshaven and threadbare.
So sad.
