92 is a good run but I’m still saddened by this. My father is long gone but he grew up in the Depression and still liked old style radio. Bob and Ray and Jean Shephard were still doing story telling and comedy when I was a little kid. I remember my father listening to them on the radio.
But he was declared dead in 1999 - not sure which would count.
There was similar issue with Steve Fossett – he died in 2007, but wasn’t declared dead until 2008.

Extremely local to me celebrity Marcus Turner just died, aged 59. Not only was he commonly seen on children’s TV in New Zealand when I was a kid, he was a friend of my family.

I lived in Greenville for about ten years. Mirra was well-known as the only famous person who’s ever come out of Pitt county. 
Edgar Whitcomb, who served as Indiana’s governor from 1969 to '73, has died at the age of 98. Whitcomb was also a World War II veteran who twice escaped from prison camp while serving as a B-17 pilot in the Army Air Corps.
Good on him! I once was introduced to a friend of my father’s who was in a German POW camp and escaped three times. “But” he said, “I always got caught fairly quickly, except for the one time I was out for two weeks.”
There was a certain etiquette to the art of escape, as I have been given to understand. One did not kill anyone, for example. They will be very, very angry when they look for you.
I never knew that. Interesting.
The gentleman I mentioned said the two week time he was out was when he hid in a farmer’s barn. The farmer found him, but he and his wife let him stay, even fed him and let him come into the house one time. Of course when the guy I met was traced and found the farmer pretended to be shocked and angry, but that was to be expected I was told.
