Of the Supremem Court justices I find it curious that only one has been picked. A couple of the retired justices, Stevens and O’Connor, have been selected, but Ginsberg is the only Justice anybody selected this year.
I didn’t have that asshole in my Dead Pool but today…I’m a happy guy.
I enjoyed Scalia’s writings though I may have disagreed with some of them (okay - many). When he was on solid ground, he could be persuasive. Recently though, he wrote to his ego - I’m the smartest man on the court.

The 58th annual Grammy Awards are tonight (Sunday 2/14/16). The “In Memoriam” segment should be devastating. Here is a good article from the San Francisco Chronicle regarding the event and who we lost in the past year. Read it and weep.
In 1981 a Topeka mariachi band, Mariachi Estrella de Topeka, was in Kansas City, about to perform at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. That was when the walkways collapsed onto the people below, killing 114 people, including four of the six band members. They are mentioned in this Wikipedia article on the disaster. Until the WTC collapse it was the deadliest structural collapse in US history.
I talk about that walkway collapse with my physics students when we study forces. I didn’t know about the mariachi band.
Sadly, another small band had something similar happen yesterday. They were from Dayton, Ohio.

A good friend of my mother lost her parents in that disaster. They were at the dance.
