Celebrity Death Pool 2016

Madeleine LeBeau, French actress who sang ‘La Marseillaise’ in ‘Casablanca,’ dies at 92

Sad points:

Singer Candye Kane has died at 54 of cancer. I had her on my first list back in 2010 and was happy to take her off it in subsequent years. But pancreatic cancer is a beast that rarely lets go. She fought really hard (and was a fantastic singer) :frowning:

Musician Jane Little, the world’s longest-serving orchestra musician, died while playing “There’s No Business Like Show Business.”

Wonderful story.

RAL remains in second place, but gets a little closer to first.

Well, hell.
Congratulations to you folks who advanced!

He vanted to buy zee World a Coke.

Thanks for listing ties in the rankings alphabetically, Baker. I can still pretend I’m not in absolute last place.

Just so y’all know, all my picks are healthier than ever apparently. Wonder if they’d be interested in an all expenses paid cruise to the Bermuda Triangle.

No, I got lost in a bermuda triangle. Still have not found my way out of it. Should have listened to admiral Akbar.

Guy Clark, the Texas troubadour who blended high wit with pure poetry and turned it into timeless, vibrantly visual songs like “Desperados Waiting for a Train” and “L.A Freeway,” died today at the age of 74.

Tejano star Emilio Navaira dies at 53

This makes me sad, but I’ll take the (exclusive, I think) 26 points. Guy Clark was an underappreciated national treasure.

Yep, zoog, he’s all yours.

Former Utah Senator Bob Bennett has passed away of cancer at 82.

One of my alternates. Don’t know if anyone else had him.

Last week Bill Backer (I’d Like to Buy The World a Coke) died at 89 http://www.adweek.com/news/advertising-branding/famed-adman-bill-backer-best-known-coca-colas-hilltop-dies-171534

Yes he did. See post 1307 above.

To be fair, leaving the name of the dead person out of the post makes it difficult to search for if someone has already reported the death here.

To be fair, the same can be said for a lot of posts here, particularly when people respond to things like “What song do you blah, blah, blah…” and what’s returned is a Youtube link. Well, fucking thanks, considering a lot of people are banned from Youtube at work and don’t have a clue what song was just mentioned.

But it goes beyond just Youtube. We have a policy for including descriptive thread titles, and I don’t see why we can’t carry that over to posts.

A lot of us are banned from picture sharing sites and would like to know what the hell you just shared!

Well, to be “fair”, I grew up when this persons ad was a huge hit. I incorrectly assumed that other Gentle Readers would recall it. Sorry…
