My themed list is the MTM show and its spinoffs, and I thought several might go before Mary.
I’ll think of this as losing my DP cherry to Laura Petrie! (I was dreading that it would be Lou Grant.)

A very sad twenty points for me.
I’m bummed because I actually did research this year and she didn’t even come up on my radar. I never was any good with homework.
Butch Trucks. Bummer. I always figured Greg Allman would keel over first.
I have lived longer with it than she had. She wasn’t diagnosed until age 33. I was diagnosed with it (in 1969 at age 4) before she was and am in great shape and have had no health issues from it.
RIP Mary
Yes, it’s remarkable that she lived to 80. I have T2D, and seriously doubt that I’ll live that long.
I’m so very sad about MTM. Her character was a role model for me. When I moved to Minneapolis, I was thrilled to find that the house with her iconic apartment was down the street.
I thought everyone with type-1 diabetes was diagnosed as a kid. Was it very mild when she was young or just not start until she was over 30?
There’s an autoimmune form of it that can strike an adult at any age. It runs in my family, but tends not to hit until the late 60s.
I am starting to get a feeling. Dick Van Dyke will also die this year.
His wife is less than half his age. He’s not going anywhere soon.
**Score Update **
Nobody had Wayne Barrett, Edwin Pope, Lois Dickson Rice, Maggie Roche, Yordano Ventura, Andy Marte, Gordon Kaye, Roberta Peters, or Butch Trucks.
18 people had Mary Tyler Moore, however…so the scores are now as follows:
Andrew 21 and RobotDevilDog are both TIED in the lead at 47 points each! What a twist!
On their heels, though, cardboardbox has 37 points.
Following that, there’s a huge bunch consisting of bowler girl, Dr. Girlfriend, FavreCo, GigoBuster, Idle Thoughts, It’s Not Rocket Surgery!, Jeep’s Phoenix, jeezums, Labtrash, Loach, Martonio, notfrommensa, Superdude, and Team Dirt…all with 27 points.
And then there’s another big bunch, all with 20 points: Avarie537, Bayaker, Clothahump, computergeek, Dolores Reborn, kayT, Maus Magill, Mona Lott, panache45, Paul in Qatar, RivkahChaya, septimus, Spiff, swampbear, Tit Whistle, and Two Many Cats
…and finally, good ol’ Randy Seltzer is in the back, with 18 points. He may be in last place right now, but he’s first place in our hearts…isn’t that right?
No, he is not in last place, I am. And one or two others. We are just sitting here waiting for death. Deaths.
Same here. In fact, almost everyone on my list is healthier now than they were when I choose them.
Angelo Bissessarsingh was in a coma Monday. Wednesday is was awake and demanding Coke Zero.sup[/sup]
Ruled a suicide.

We need a separate thread for this, the Celebrity Resuscitation Pool.
Mike Connors, star of Mannix, dead at 91.
He is survived by an extremely loud sports coat.
Since this is an ‘update,’ which scores changed since post #619?
Well, see, I’m the host…so, I tally, update, keep, and post the scores. That’s what my whole job is, as host. I’m host and scorekeeper.
So phungi isn’t keeper of the score sheet?
