I’m not going to be counting any invalid picks toward the “quantity, not quality” award.

This means I will not count anyone over 100 or exactly 100 towards that award, on anyone’s list.

I put it in the rules in the OP.

Valid picks cannot already be 100.

So, in reality, this rules out anyone 99 also since they will be turning 100 next year.

It’s not a change, that’s how the ranking system originally was.

Anyway, with all due respect, not every host is going to do it exactly like every other one. I’m a new guy, so I wanted to bring in a few new, small changes. I certainly don’t see it as anything huge or game breaking, but if you do…I’m sorry for it.

I’m not going to sit in here and argue the case with people, though, so this is my last post on the subject. From here on, I’m only going to be answering game questions, not “debating about rule changes” stuff.

As the person who wrote the original rules off the cuff, I’ll go on record to say I have no problem with people changing the rules in general or with Idle Thoughts’ changes in particular. I changed the rules several times when I ran the Deathpool threads. Other people changed the rules when they ran them.

For me it’s maybe more the attitude of “no discussion” than the actual changes. This used to be a fun game. Now it’s more like a dictatorship. Problem with that is, there’s too much of that in real life; I don’t like it here too.

Amen. The game is essentially the same, and I am sure someone could submit a list of all 100-year-old individuals and track their progress… it’s not like there is any real victory in victory.
