A friend saw Tom Petty in concert a few months ago and said he was moving really slow, like an old man. Apparently he’s had serious health issues going on for a while now.
On a shocking day, I didn’t think I could be more shocked. Or re-shocked, or something. I woke up this morning to the news of the Las Vegas shooting, but I was up early and info poured in slowly, so I was able to acclimate to the bad news over the course of the morning. Then I flipped on the Twitter machine just as I was leaving work and saw that Tom Petty had died (or, I guess is not quite dead yet? wtf?) and I actually uttered an actual “wtf” out loud.
Short version - Tom Petty. Fuck. I’m bummed.
