Celebrity Death Pool 2019

He’s just this guy, you know?

Now the world has gone to bed,
Darkness won’t engulf my head,
I can see in infrared,
How I hate the night.

Now I lay me down to sleep,
Try to count electric sheep,
Sweet dream wishes you can keep,
How I hate the night.

Noted literary critic Harold Bloom has died at age 89.

Transgender comedienne and activist Daphne Dorman (who appears in an Easter egg in Dave Chappelle’s newest special, Sticks and Stones) has died at 44 from an apparent suicide.

Queen of the Blues Guitar Beverly Watkins

I’ll start: my first entries were in 2018, and everyone on both of my lists survived the year. However, this year I’ve gotten points from two people on my celebrities list and one on my themed list.

So I went for one whole year without points! Let’s see someone beat that record!

I went 0-my first 3-4 Pools. I didn’t score for the first time ever until Joey Feek died a few years back, and I only got that one because she was a “gimmie.” It was like the free space on a Bingo card.

I looked at the names on my first list. Maggie popped my cherry rather early on that year. Something like half of that list has died since then, but none of them gave me any points. I had the king of Thailand for several years, but he would not put out until I took him off.

I won a couple three years ago, and I haven’t made a single point this year.

As I recall you’ve done pretty damn well for several years. Until now.

that Obey Woman gots some strong ju-ju

Obey woman?

I can’t remember the guy I shared a seat with much of the time.

What’s the latest in the year you had your first death?

In 2011, I had nothing until Chris Hitchens died on December 15. Two days later, I got Kim Jong-Il.

My only two deaths were with 16 days or less in the year.

Actress Leah Bracknell has died at the age of 55. She apparently died in September but it was announced just today.

Boxer Patrick Day died today at the age of 27 of traumatic brain injuries suffered during a fight on Saturday. He was knocked out 3 times during the fight.

I won the Final hours award one year with Benazir Bhutto. She was my only pick with points that year, on December 27th.

Speaking of points, I’ll tote up the points for Leah Bracknell this evening, I was just popping in now before I go to work.

OMG. Elijah Cummings died this morning at the age of 68.

This is not good news.

:frowning:

He was one of the good ones. Can’t believe he’s gone.

At the risk of sounding heartless, better him than Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Hey, this is the Death Pool, where we root for people (even people we like!) to die.

Bracknell gets me my 5th straight year with >200 points. Go me!

Did I have Leah Bracknell this year?
