Wikipedia says mine era still alive and well. I made a subfolder with their Wikipages on my favourite folder to check easily, the ten pages have not changed.
Canadian jazz legend Eleanor Collins passes away at age 104
Canada’s First Lady of Jazz has joined the heavenly choir.
Noting here the death of Whitey Herzog. Herzog, who appears on one entry in this pool, died on April 15th.

I am amazed that all my entries are still alive as per wikipedia. This game is different from the death pool as we don’t post who is still alive but not in anyone’s list, while in the other game all “interesting” deaths are posted, no matter whether someone had them included in their lists or not. But if we don’t post all those who are still alive I can at least reiterate that Franco is still dead, which is something.
Bears repeating? My pleasure: Franco is still dead.
ETA: And Jimmy Carter is still alive!

Some mid-year observations:
The oldest person who has died so far this year was Sylvia Fein, 104 years old, who edged out Eleanor Collins, also 104 years old. Fein and Collins were born one day apart, but Fein outlived Collins by a month.
The youngest person who has died so far this year was Maria Beale Fletcher, 88 years old.
The average age at death was 97.67 years old.
There are 113 different people named in this pool, of which 10 have died (8.85%). There are 143 names on all entries, of which 11 have died (7.69%); several names appear on more than one entry, and one of the dead, Janis Paige, was on two entries.
So far, this extreme strategy seems to be paying off!

With Bob Newhart’s death, I’m down another fifteen potential points.
Newhart was brought in to fill the spot created by Shecky Greene’s death. I feel like there is a death baton relay race being run.
I did update for Bob Newhart, which was my first loss of points as well.
Any recent deaths from our list? My perusal has not shown any I am aware of, but feel free to check the list.
None of mine have died since Ruth Westheimer, at least not according to their wikipages. The Death Pool seems jazzier, not much action here. Had not expected it to be so uneventful, tbh.
