My Google-fu has failed me. Is it Mullins or someone else speaking in the Shawn Mullins song “Lullaby”? (It’s the song that begins, “She grew up with the children of the stars…”) Sounds a lot like Jack Nicholson; could be Christian Slater.
Or not?

I believe the song is called “Rockabye” which may be the source of your problems. Go on, young one, and find the Fu once again.

Nope, Elendil’s Heir was correct; the song is indeed called “Lullabye.” As far as the OP goes, I think that is Shawn Mullins. The credits don’t list anyone famous, and I have vague memories of Mullins speaking the lines in the video for “Lullabye.”
I’m sure that was Mullins as well.
As long as the video was mentioned…
 Dominique Swain
It is Mullins himself. There are a number of other songs on the album, Soul’s Core in which he speaks parts as well, as well as many where he sings in the same register as his speaking. It’s actually a very strong album, and worth picking up. It contains an amazing cover of Kris Kristofferson’s “Sunday Morning Coming Down.”
'Twas Shawn.
Well, from what I found, it’s tentatively called “Lullabye (Rockabye)”. Pick a name for yer song, fer chrissakes!
But I digress.
I apologize for my confusion!

Much obliged, everyone!
I’d like to add that MTV probably killed this guy’s carreer (if not his crap music). He looks like a hairy, wet dog ass.
Nuh uh. He looks like the most credible evidence for a Yeti yet.
I remember reading an article when that album came out. Shawn explained that he had a hard time getting people to shut up and listen to him. He found that song-talking got people quiet and that explains why a couple songs on Soul Core have that carry-over.
