That’s the way it was in the book.
My wake up call at New York New York in Vegas was Rita Rudner when she appeared there. Rude awakening
I wouldn’t have the faintest idea what Stephen Merchant sounds like (well, except for Wheatley), but J.K. Simmons was awesome as Cave Johnson.
I heard from a tour guide once that Nimoy grew up just a few blocks from there.
I was getting into a cab in New York City several years ago, and as it started to drive I heard “This is Eartha Kitt. Cats have nine lives, but you only have one. Please fasten your safety belt. Mrrroooooooww.” I heard other voices with similar announcements in other cabs (I think one was a hockey player), but none of them could hold a candle to Eartha.
If you watch TBBT, he is the tall English guy Amy went out with after the breakup with Sheldon.
This was the FIRST THING that I thought of when I saw the thread title…
So my kids are watching a cartoon. They are two year olds.
All of the sudden I hear a voice. I recognize it. It is Ozzy, The prince of Darkness, the Madman, the Godfather of Heavy Metal. The man who bit a head off a bat.
And he is Sid Fishy on Bubble Guppies.
At least my kids are off to a good start musically.

Coincidentally I just finished listening to Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast with guest Tim Matheson, and he’s been in a HUGE number of things, even though most everyone remembers him from Animal House.
And wrote her own material, no less.
While playing the MMO Star Wars: the Old Republic, I was listening to the dialogue of Aric Jorgan, a Republic trooper, and thinking to myself: “Why do I know that voice?” It’s Timothy Omundson, better known as Carlton Lassiter on Psych.
While most of the major voices in the game are done by actors known for voiceover work (such as Jennifer Hale, Steve Blum, Kath Soucie, and Tara Strong), I was surprised to see how many well-known film and TV actors are also in the game, including Lacy Chabert, Rachel Leigh Cook, Olivia Hussey, Armin Shimerman, Clive Revill, Jamie Bamber, and Robert Pine (Sgt. Getraer on CHiPs, and the father of Chris Pine).
It’s not an unlikely place in and of itself-- just another acting voice-acting gig-- but I still find it rather surprising that the narrator of the children’s TV show Thomas the Tank Engine was voiced at different times by Ringo Starr and George Carlin (as well as Alec Baldwin and Pierce Brosnan)
No problem!
It would have real cool though, especially if it was uncredited. More so since you could make an argument it was the first celebrity guest voice for a Saturday morning cartoon, predating the Scooby Doo-type guest appearances in its later seasons. (Runs off to research who actually was the first…)
I know around that era prime time cartoons has celebrity guest voices, like Ann Margaret on The Flintstones for example.
Plus Tony Curtis and Elizabeth Montgomery.
Does he actually talk? Or just mumble like he is famous for doing? ![]()
Seth Rogan’s voice is in Toronto’s subway messaging system.
Ahh, good old Stoney Curtis! Plus Tuesday Wednesday - or was it Wednesday Tuesday?
Elizabeth Montgomery went by the character name ‘Samantha Stephens’ (likewise Dick York used his Bewitched character name as well) and along with the Tuesday Weld reference I believe were one of the few if only character names on The Flintstones without a rock-based pun.
I think Will Arnett voices about 90% of commercials but it’s so hard to tell because he can completely change his voice.0
