My two alternates were the following. Not only do they share my birthday of December 31st, but they were also both born in 1954, as I was!
Hermann Tilke
German engineer and auto racer
Alexander Salmond
Scottish politician, current First Minister of Scotland
Trying to ignore the apostrophe disaster in the title… nnnggghhh
John Lennon
Guillermo del Toro
Scott Bakula
Chris O’Dowd
The women in the list I am unfamiliar with. That’s a shame.
Also, it’s only a couple of weeks away. October 9th.
Me, too. A couple of sports figures, and one Senator that I don’t like very much.
Millard Fillmore, the guy who got to be president after Zachary Taylor died the least ceremonial presidential death. Fillmore may be the most forgettable president ever.
David “sunglasses” Caruso
Katie “eats Sarah Palin as an hors d’oeuvre” Couric
Zora Neale “so cool she’s on the list 3 times” Hurston
Gerald “My Family and Other Animals” Durrell
Dustin “I know I know him from somewhere” Diamond
Charles “The Addams Family” Addams
Czar Nicholas II of Russia
Duane “Dobie Gillis” Hickman
The Pope (no, the *real *pope, JP-II)
Tim Lincecum, SF Giants! One of the eight ‘core eight’ (as I call them) players who played on all three World Series teams.
He’s not listed in the OP’s link.
For varying values of celebrity:
Jonathan Swift
Oliver Winchester
Mark Twain

G. Gordon Liddy
Bob Moore
Abbie Hoffman

I knew about Elijah Wood and Alan Alda already. I see from the link that also, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Paul Krugman, and Jackson Pollack and Artur Rubenstein. Several others I have never heard of.
Regards,
Shodan
PS - “I bet I know your star sign. Is it Aries?”
“Nope.”
“Leo?”
“Nope.”
“Aquarius?”
“Yes.”
“I knew it!”
Maury Chaykin, Peggy Fleming, Charlotte Corday…
More interesting than the celebrities, most of them unknown to me, is an event that took place on my birthday –
1054 – Siward, Earl of Northumbria invades Scotland and defeats Macbeth, King of Scotland, somewhere north of the Firth of Forth.
I was born on the same day as Annie Lenox, and the same date as Anwar Sadat, Humphrey Bogart, Rod Serling, Isaac Newton and some other people.
I already knew about Susan Sarandon; I used to work with her (recently deceased) brother and I’d always make a crack about him sending us birthday cards.
Armand Assante - ROWWWWR!
Christoph Waltz- double ROWWWWR!!
Anne Rice
Alicia Silverstone
Charlton Heston - he’s PEOPLE!!!
Buster Keaton
Jackie Collins
Rutherford B. hayes
A couple of young actresses that I’ve heard of but have no idea what they’ve been in
And last and most certainly least, some Nazi dude.
May 23
Rosemary Clooney
Joan Crawford
Douglas Fairbanks
Marvin Hagler
AND!
Linden Ashby
Dude, Linden Ashby was the best Johnny Cage.
Don’t tell me, let me guess: 20 April? :dubious:
Aha, 25 December?
No, it’s not der fuhrer but one of his nastier minions - Ernst Kaltenbrunner.
Oy, vay! I read Fatherland!
It’s fun trying to guess the date from the names given. Another one I know for sure is 16 June for Stan Laurel. My favorite old girlfriend had the same birthday.
Nathan Fillion
Quantin Tarantino
Mariah Carey
Fergie
Michael York
Thank you so much for that second link, because the one in the OP is totally worthless. Of the people I share a birthday with, I’d only heard of, like, three of them, and the eight that are a much bigger deal to me didn’t even make the first list:
John Brown (Abolitionist)
Candace Bergen (Actress)
Calvin Murphy (Basketball player)
Billy Joel (Entertainer)
Doug Christie (Basketball player)
Tamia (Entertainer)
Maggie Dixon (Basketball coach)
Rosario Dawson (Actress)
