I have not charged my cell phone battery in over four months. It is down to one bar, and has been for some time, so it’s gonna go anytime, but that’s pretty impressive to me. My monthly usage varies from between 25 - 75 minutes, typically in the 50ish range. My first cell phone, OTOH, lasted only a week betwen charges, whether I used it or not. (And, no, I do not/did not keep either on the charger. I let them discharge before recharging.)
I have a Sprint PCS Samsung 3500 flipphone, which besides wearing out the flip hinges in six months resulting in lousy sound quality, also discharges in about 30 hours if totally unused. I get about 90 minutes of talk time per charge, and I talk about 12 hours per month.
Your Mileage May Vary; many folks in my office with identical phones can get several hours of talk time on a charge with an identical phone. Bad luck I guess. I’d trade it in for a Blackberry in an instant; I much prefer the exactness of written communications, since I’m in Tech Support.
My Nokia 5165 needs to be recharged everyday. (I plug it in when I get home from work.) Then again, I play Snake on all my breaks. I suppose that could have something to do with it.
When I got mine I was told that I should get 60 hours of standby and 2.5 hours talk time. When tested the phone exceeded the standby capacity by 10 hours.
My phone gets wired into my car on a near daily basis and rarely sees it’s charger, I have only seen the battery indicator change once and most often it registers as being fully charged.
BTW - It’s a Sony / Qualcomm dual mode digital phone. The model # escapes me at the moment.
Our Nokia 259 is good for about 30 hours on standby.
My phone must be at least four years old now (Nokia 251), and it usually lasts a couple of days if I just leave it on stand by. If I use it, I have to recharge it every night. I have a quick charger in my vehicle, so it’s not usually a problem.
I’d get a newer phone, but I absolutely hate those tiny little phones, which most of the new ones seem to be.
I just noticed Feynn said my phone was a 259. I can’t dispute that. I have no idea.
