Cell Phone-Book Dnld/Upld Utility: Recommendation?

Last time I changed phones I bought a nice piece of S/W that uploaded the phone book to my PC and then I could edit it in Excel and dnld to the new phone. It came with a USB connector and all of the dongles for all the types of phone connectors.

A co-worker “borrowed” [ahem] it and it has now grown legs.

I can’t seem to find this on the net.

Anyone use/have a recommendation for such a utility?

Thanks!

An Android phone doesn’t really need that. It will get your contacts list from your Gmail account, and any other accounts you synchronise with. It means not relying on the phone memory but getting stuff from the cloud. A good thing? Probably, if you want your devices to keep updated with changes you make in other accounts.

When I changed from my non-smartphone LG to a Motorola Defy (Android 2.2), I did upload its contacts to my PC, but found I didn’t need to do that to keep my contacts.

Bump. Because my new phone arrives tomorrow.
