Cell phones and cancer

I have the instruction manuel to my cell phone in a PDF file on my puter. Tonight I was trying to set up my voice mail. After dialing my number on the cell phone I hit “send” and instantly my monitor began giggling.

Obviously, the signal from my cell phone was affecting my monitor, about 2 feet away. Makes me even more concerned about the “safety” of cell phones. I’m quite sure the telecommunications industry doesn’t care if their products cause cancer. After all, nobody is accountable in a large corporation. With so much money at stake, I don’t trust my government either.

The last month or so I have regularly drained my cell battery by the end of the work day. I refuse to use it when I’m not at work. Anybody else concerned about this?

If chickens could pee, they would be wet on the bottom.

Yes, cell phones are dangerous. They’ve been known to piss people off when they get cut off by some tiny lady in a big SUV talking on a freaking cell phone.

Darn it all to heck anyway.

I sold my soul to Satan for a dollar. I got it in the mail.

I’d rather get a brain tumor than give up my cell phone!

Actually, I think this was covered by Cecil somewhere, but the power of RF coming from cell phones is pretty far below the threshold for causing that kind of thing.

Yes, I am concerned about it. This is one topic that I will be investigating as soon as I have the time to do so.

After spending a majority of the month of December at Children’s Mercy Hospital following the discovery of my little grandson’s brain tumor, it’s my gut feeling that something in our environment is very unhealthy.

I don’t know if radiation from cordless phones, cell phones, cable or cell phone towers may be a factor, but I was shocked and horrified to realize how many infants and toddlers have various forms of cancer. That was only at one hospital. I have yet to search for national numbers on this.

Personally, I have never really cared for cordless phones so I don’t own one or own a cell phone. After learning that there may indeed be a serious health issue, I never will.

A couple of days ago a couple of AT&T reps visited my company and offered me a free cell phone. They were quite surprised when I said, “No thank you. Absolutely Not!”

If you do some searching on the web, you’ll find info about the health risks.

I don’t claim to be versed enough to have an opinion. But remember that the air around you these days is chock full of electromagnetic waves from all manner of sources. I haven’t yet seen anyone propose a believable scenario by which electromagnetic fields cause cancer; perhaps another poster has? And remember, if you’re not one of the few who’s gone to a panel display for your computer, when you’re here, you’ve got a very busy electron gun pointed at your head about two feet away.

I don’t claim to be an expert, but I really think people are way off with this whole radiation causing cancer idea. As someone pointed out, there are all sorts of waves traveling through the air all the time. People have gotten cancer throughout history, even before there were cell phones and the like. And I know for a fact that radiation therapy is a common treatment for cancer because I had it when I was 4 1/2 and that was the second step after chemotherapy. I never used a cell phone or a cordless phone and I got cancer. So I think we’re on the wrong track and need to look into other things a little more than automatically labeling something as bad.

When are you going to realize being normal isn’t necessarily a good thing?

I think it’s the invisible rays.
