Does anyone know of an inexpensive cellular phone service in New York that isn’t too expensive. Fucking Verizon, incompetent pricks. I’m not waiting another week to pay $85 to be charged $20 a month just because some incompetent jerk doesn’t know jack about prices OR scheduling to send someone over. Bastards.
What’s inexpensive to you?
AT&T Wireless has 60 minutes for $19.99 per month. Or for $29.99 you can have 250 minutes/month with no in-state long distance. Those are the most basic plans. Or you might check out prepaid cellular. Not to be a commercial, but you can check out the rates at attws.com.
Otherwise, you can check out verizonwireless.com for their rates…but it sounds like you’re trying to avoid them.
Yeah, I am. God damn their black, horrid souls to hell! Well, the guy who fixed my order was ok, but I still don’t want to have to wait a week to pay that much (who was that first person, anyway, that they could screw up so bad?).
Thanks for the site, ATTGuy, I’ll check it out.
And before anyone else calls me on it, yes, the first sentence has too many 'expensive’s in it.
I must say, their web site isn’t very good. Though their coverage map says they cover all of new york, they don’t acknowledge the zip code I’m in as being covered. I’ll shop around though.
Try some of the options at Point.com. Checklist of wants and desires limits your choices, and you can compare between plans. Good luck.
imho verizon has the best coverage for NYC metro area. att is ok, but a lot of no service areas north of the city. MCI resells either Verizon or ATT usally they have slightly better deals - but long hold times if you ever have to get in touch w/ them.
also deals are always changing, wait for a free phone deal to come your way- check out several vendors , cellular plus or midtown cellular always seems to be able to offer a free phone deal - somehow.
Over here in the Albany area, I’ve been quite happy with my Sprint PCS service. I can’t tell from the map here whether or not Ithaca is covered, but they’ve got a website that probably will tell you.
I live in Tallahassee, FL. I used to be a Verizon customer for my numeric paging service. Droped that after about 11 days. The service was absolutely horrible! About half the pages never came through, and they kept telling me that the service was working fine. I proved that my ability to drop their sorry asses was working fine. Got signed up on Portaphone CHEAPER, and with MORE FEATURES! (E.G. Voice mail, local human being to bitch at with my problems, etc). I wouldn’t wish it on anybody, not even a Republican lobbyist.
