Wait… so the January thing never happened? Florida Dopers are notorious for wimpy Dopefests. Pezpunk once set the record with about five Dopers once, beating the former record set by the Tampa OctDoperfest 2000 of three!!
Anyway, if you guys want to push something around say… late June after the 22. I’m in. LOL

Pshaw, we had six, count 'em SIX Dopers in SoFla to watch Crouching Tiger, then another FIVE to say bu-bye to TruePisces! We’re about a three hour very fast drive from Orlando.
Meanwhile, back in this neck of Florida, I’d be happy to show up if we try this again. Except that I’ll be leaving the country for 3 months in mid-June, so I suppose Bear Nemo and I will have to give each other a miss.
So, where ya’ going? Can you bring us back something?

Couple of months working in Belfast, or so the plan goes at the moment. I admit that I cringe muchly at the thought of spending all day doing one-on-one work with my advisor and then coming home to share a 5-room house with him and the evil coworker bitch from hell, but I suppose that as long as he’s paying for this, and as long as he won’t notice if I sort of slide on off over to Rome for a week or something, I can’t complain.
As for bringing something back, I’m rather hoping for a neat accent, which I don’t think is quite what you had in mind… We’ll see what sort of neat things I can find and show off to the oohs and ahs of all and sundry. 
Actually, there were only four of us for my fairwell (you, me, katiekilldare and Oicu812), but there were 9, I think, for the DopeFest at RenFest in Largo back in '01.
You know, thinking back on it, I think I know what the trouble is. Y’all just need to get me back to Florida and have a Fest then. If the fest that Bear_Nenno is thinking about is the one I’m thinking about (back when we all went to hear pezzy’s band play a couple years ago), then I’ve been at all the more populated Florida Fests.

VERY nice school, tres expensive. Just west of Downtown Tampa, in the old Tampa hotel, the one that Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders stayed at just before deploying to Cuba. Here is a pic, check out the solid nickel onion spires:

UT is a nice school. I am told it is slightly boring though. I actually live about a half mile from there but I attended University of South Florida. Things have changed a lot since I went to school though and Tampa has a bit more to do. you may like it. If you have questions about the area or whatever feel free to ask.
