There is an aurora as I type, but it’s pretty much well dead. It’s hard telling, maybe it’ll be back soon! Go check! I’m pretty excited about this, it’s the first one I’ve ever seen.
Great here in Chicago, too! Local news radio station mentioned it because they were getting calls. I got an email from a local monitoring site at 0252 UTC (8:52 PM Central time) giving their hightest reading.

That’s exactly what I thought when I first saw the thread title! But then I thought Aurora’s not really central.
Seriously, though, friends all over the upper midwest (so to speak) have been telling me about this all day. It sounds great.
