Turns out that Texas passed a law in 2001 that all auto insurers must offer Cents-per-mile billing. WTF?!
Were thay planning on telling anybody?
Anybody here in TX have it? Is it worth looking into? It sounds like a Godsend to me. Imagine having your car paid for until you hit a certain mileage instead of paying monthly. And it works out to 3.2 cents/mile instead of the 27 cents/mile paid here in Galveston Co.
I found out about the law today while goofing around on Google. Here’s a link to the NOW website. http://www.centspermilenow.org/ They have pamphlets, speakers and free bumperstickers to raise awareness. Never saw any of those, either.
