cesca or Sesska or Ceska on Enterprise Plus a Question about the Borg Queen

I notice that the actress who played Cesca on Voyager has reappeared on the series of Enterprise where she is one of the wives of Dr. Phlox or Flox, except she doesn’t have those two segmented worms pasted to the sides of her face like he does, or maybe I disremember, but she does have horrible looking wires coming out by her hair roots. I haven’t seen the whol episode yet as it is recorded and I had to go to work, but she is trying to make out with Trip the blond guy from Texas. She tells him how to put a bolt into an opening. j This same actress played several roles throughout the shows.
Also, the Borg Queen appeared on Voyager this morning andhad to be all put together. Is just her head human or what? And why do they need a Borg Queen anyway, I thought it was all part of the collective. Butr the biggest question is why do the Borg want to assimilate everybody anyway?

I think it’s “Sesska”.
I think only her head is human.
The queen was added for drama and as a lame plot device.
The borg think that if they have a little of everything as part of them and know everything they will achieve perfection.

AHH! I thought she looked familiar. Yes, it’s “Sesska.” Sexy lady…

As for the Borg, some members of the collective are more equal than others.

Now, I only watched maybe…three full episodes of Voyager, two of which involved the Borg and the Queen. From what I gathered, with First Contact and all, the body of the Borg Queen is inconsiquential. If you remember, her body was just some poor engineer that went wandering through the vents looking for her buddy in First Contact. Being part of/controling the collective, I’m under the impression that she could be “dowloaded” into any body she wants. She could have the borg make whatever type of body/figure/stature/whatever she wants to house herself when she wants to get more personal with her victims, but overall, she’s most likely some super highly developed computer program (or evolved into one if she started as a solely organic lifeform). As for the similarities between her appearance in Voyager and First Contact…simple choice of the writters to make her more recognizable by the fans, nothing more.

It was a different queen. There were a number of “hives” or collectives, and each one had a different queen. Each of the queens were in contact with each other, though. The head, shoulders & upper spine were all that remained of both of the queens, and they looked similar, but that’s Star Trek for you…

The whole point of the borg is that they retain some living element. If they wanted to be purely cybernetic, they wouldn’t have tried to give Data skin; they would have copied his technology and transferred their consciousnesses into the positronic brains, or whatever they were… wouldn’t be the first time… Star Trek, again.

I don’t remember the queen being an ex-crewmember in First Contact?

I always wondered why the borg didn’t bother to analyze Data’s construction so they could make hundreds of him since he is both stronger and more durable than a borg. It was demonstrated in several episodes that a human mind could be downloaded into an android body.

Was this actually stated anywhere, or is it just an opinion? I don’t want to seem like an asshole, I’m just curious. Like I said, I hardly watched Voyager, and that seems to be where all the revamping of the Borg took place, so I’m just curious if I missed something here.

I may be mistaken, but I recall a scene where two engineers are hanging out by the ducts…one guy, one girl. The guy goes up, sees some shadows, the lady hears a thunk, asks “Are you all right up there?” climbs the lader, looks horrified at the screen, possibly screams, and I’m pretty sure the next time you see her she has no hair, green skin, and a whole new body. I could be wrong, but that’s the way it looked to me.

Each borg cube or sphere had its own borg queen? But when the sphere discovered by Voyager captured Seven of Nine it was shown drifting to a bunch more of bork vessels, evidently their headquarters and into a hatch in an even more enormous structure (with me wondering where they got all that metal) and then the door to that sphere opens and 7 is taken out and after while meets up with the put-together borg queen. If there was already a queen on the sphere why did 7 have to be taken out? I assumed that the borg queen was the only one and was the queen of all the different borg vessels. “I’ll be in my ready room,” as Captain Catherine Janeway of the Starship Voyager always says, waiting for an answer. Also, here is another question for the genertal discussion:
Why is Voyager depicted as having lots of those circle plasma discs around in the cargo bay, above 7 of 9’s alcove but also elsewhere? You can buy them in those stores in malls that sell lava lamps and joke gifts. Like lightning bolts of electricity come out from the center of these discs. I mean didn’t the writers realize that everybody would know this, or could buy one?

the queen is one consionsness with many bodies. It is the only way to explain why there are several dead queens, yet they all have the same memories. Plus, she said she was the voice that gave direction to the collective, so she is like an all emcompacing force. And she was apparently not from the original Borg homeworld but assimilated later, and then chosen to guide the collective for whatever reason (probably got too big and needed set goals or whatnot)

'Twasn’t Seska.

Seska was played by Martha Hackett..
Feezal was played by Melinda Page Hamilton. Here’s one site that lists it, and this name matches what appeared in the opening credits.
