Challenge us with a non-famous line from a movie

It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

Fast and correct.

“Stay away from Peggy or I’ll break your neck.”

“Remember when you booked us in a Hawaiian band? We wore grass skirts.”

“I never asked the time of day from a clock, did I?”

Some Like It Hot

Yep, it was just on TCM.

I love that movie! It’s a family favorite. I may have posted this before, but I have a picture of my late great uncle George when he was in the navy on the deck of a battleship (the USS Texas) with Joe E Brown in boxing gear.

I first saw it in 1959 because my mother hated going to movies alone. I was four years old at the time, and incredibly turned on by Marilyn Monroe.

When people told my mom “You shouldn’t let him watch movies like that!” she’d reply “Oh, he doesn’t know what he’s looking at.”

Uh, yes I did, Mom. And I was hoping the entire time you wouldn’t … notice. :flushed:

I wish my daughter had been here to watch it with me. She would have loved it!

Marilyn was something else wasn’t she. Just like Jello on springs. :grinning:

Hope you don’t mind if I ask. Why didn’t your daughter get to see it?

Oh, yeah. She’s right near the top of my list of the most beautiful women ever. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

In 1960, my mother took me with her to another movie that didn’t really interest me, and the only thing I remembered was the part where a woman was parading around a hotel room in her bra and slip.

For years, I wondered what movie that was. I finally found out a quarter of a century later when I saw it from the beginning on TV.

Psycho. :astonished:

She had to work today. She’ll be 28 next week, and she lives with her boyfriend.

I love Marilyn singing Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

She likes old movies?

I’d watch Marilyn singing anything. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Yep, she (my daughter) loves movies. She did a double major (English and Film) in college.

We started watching movies together as soon as she was able to talk. I think we started with The Wizard of Oz, and I introduced her to Disney, Aardman, Burton, Tarantino, and Noir over the years.

She loooooves the Harry Potter and Hunger Games movies and can describe every … single … detail of them.

That’s great about your daughter. My dad got us hooked on Some Like It Hot when we were very young. He is a big Marilyn fan too. My sister and I have been quoting lines from that movie most of our lives. “Nobody’s perfect” is favorite and can be used often.

I love this too…

Sorry for the hijack. I forgot which thread I was in.

“Doesn’t anybody f*****g knock anymore?”

Oh … my … God!

SLIH has one of the greatest casts ever. All of them (even George Raft and Nehemiah Persoff) were brilliant comic actors!

I know George Raft was Spats, who was Nehemiah?
