Challenge us with a non-famous line from a movie

“Why, a trained dolphin could do better than you!”
“Well, yeah, but then the pizzas would get all wet.”

‘The Streak’?

Not the one I’m thinking of.

Nope.

I’d actually forgotten this was here. Pimpernel Smith, a remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel with the action moved to Germany in 1939. Leslie Howard as a Nazi-fighting archaeology professor, decades before Harrison Ford.

I’ve seen that one! :+1:

It was inspired by the cartoons.

Here’s one I posted quite some time ago, didn’t get any nibbles as far as I know.

“Are you suggesting I disclosed his whereabouts?”

Get Shorty

That is such a great line.

In a movie filled with great lines.

“Make this next floor faster. I’m having a little difficulty in ditching the cop.”

Safety Last … Harold Lloyd movie.

Yes. I thought that might be old and obscure enough that people would have trouble placing the quote. I should have had more faith in my fellow dopers. Or did you just see it last night on TCM like I did?

There’s actually a better quote that I kinda wish I’d used.

“Young man, don’t you know you might fall and get hurt?”

That’s just too perfect for the image of Harold Lloyd dangling from a clock face on a tall building.

I didn’t see it last night, but I did dial it up on TCM a few months ago.

Here’s one:

“Make sure nobody uses my car phone! I’m in the hospital and some jerk calls Rome.”

^“Th-th-th-that’s all, Ethel!”

Hasn’t been guessed yet.

From the same movie…

“You big silly. You used to be a normal person!”

That must be one of those wop 9s.

‘You see, in a world where elephants are pursued by flying men, people are just naturally going to want to get high.’

Hey, it’s the Fiat of guns, man.

Just for the record, anyone in this thread who hasn’t seen Get Shorty really should clear an evening and do so. It’s hard to oversell how many great lines there are, an absolute murders row ensemble cast, and one of the coolest characters in cinema history.

ETA and I forgot to mention the soundtrack.
