Challenge us with a non-famous line from a movie

Nitpick: That’s Conan’s next line, the actual next line is, “Wrong! Conan! What is best in life?”.

This is true, but I was referencing muldoonthief’s prompt

Watch it you two, or you’ll be the subjects of my “What is best in life” speech.

Peter O’Toole as Henry II in The Lion in Winter.

I’ve seen it at least a dozen times. I doubt there’s a single line in it I wouldn’t recognize.

I think The Incredibles has the best meta-reference to that particular trope. Sam Jackson’s character actually mentions villain monologuing in an earlier scene than this, in an anecdote he tells Mr Incredible, but this shows the main villain actually referencing it too.

One of the things I dislike about Skyfall is the monologuing in reverse. When Silva is excaping through the Underground, Bond has his gun aimed right at him and doesn’t fire a shot. Instead, they start talking and Silva gets away. Just shoot him!

Still in play…

“I don’t believe in that sort of thing personally. Astronomy is one of the many tools of the devil.”

I know I’ve heard it - I just can’t place it. Happy Gilmore?

It’s full of quotable lines.

‘He had a mind like Aristotle’s and a form like mortal sin. We broke the commandments on the spot.’

“Don’t think. It can only hurt the ball club.”

Bull Durham

I’m kinda partial to “I’m the player to be named later.”

The Waterboy

I’ve still got this one hanging out there:

“Yeah, well fuck you, Gus! You know what I feel like doing? I feel like breaking your broken leg! That’s what I feel like doing!”

Another line, same movie:

“Hey, you know you assholes almost broke my pussy finger.”

Close.

That’s the one.

Saturday Night Fever.

Yes (five characters)

“First time I saw her I thought my teeth were gonna sweat.”

“Assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups.”

This should be obscure enough to offer a challenge. LOL

Leslie Nielsen in The Naked Gun?
