Challenge us with a non-famous line from a movie

Actor 1: Man, I don’t know any Rwandans.

Actor 2: You don’t know the guy in the trunk, either.

I can’t believe no one has got this, so here’s the ringer:

“Stay gold, Ponyboy, stay gold.”

The Outsiders

Hallelujah.

“Hey. What’s your name?”
“Helen.”
“That’s nice. You look like a Helen.”

Was that from True Lies? I think Jamie Lee Curtis’s character was Helen.

Afraid not.

“Welcome to the dance of destiny, ladies and gentlemen. Around and around and around we go, and we’re only beginning, folks. Only beginning! On and on and on and on and when will it stop? When will it end? When? Only when the last two of these wonderful, starry-eyed kids are left. Only when the last two dancers stagger and sway, stumble and swoon, across the sea of defeat and despair to victory. One couple, and only one, will waltz out of here, over broken bodies and broken dreams, carrying the grand prize 1,500 silver dollars.”

Sounds like, They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?

“You got a weird thing for Canadian melodrama.”

Chasing Amy

Indeed.

I knew that was a Kevin Smith movie but I couldn’t remember which one.

I just want to tell you both, good luck, we’re all counting on you.

Airplane

Correctamundo.

Let’s build a list of films that are well-known enough that they have essentially no “non-famous lines.”

I’ll start:

Airplane!
Casablanca
Virtually all of Monty Python (films and TV)
Star Wars (1977)
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi

Now, I’m not the OP or a mod, so I can’t (and wouldn’t) say that people can’t try posting lines from these films, or others that may be added to this list. But you’re going to have a harder time of it, because so many people here have virtually memorized them.

I had a friend in the film club at my college, who had literally memorized all of Casablanca. And this was in the early 1980s, before streaming and DVDs, and practically before VHS. So most of his viewings had been in theaters.

I dunno, I posted a Star Wars quote back when this thread was young that lasted awhile.

“They really make her…”
“Perfect. I know.”

I’d add Blazing Saddles and maybe Young Frankenstein to that list of yours.
