Challenge us with a non-famous line from a movie

I so want to give a hint, and yet I don’t.

WAG: Trading Places?

That’s not the one I’m thinking of either. I’ve seen that movie a lot and I don’t recall a quote like that. Was it Aykroyd when he’s Santa?

Could be. It sounds like something he or Eddie Murphy might say.

It does. Murphy does say “I can walk.”

There is no movie “Yucatec Man.” I meant that, in Apocalypto, the line wasn’t spoken in English, but rather in the Mayan language called Yucatec — but the subtitle (translation) was a direct quote from the Midnight Cowboy original (instead of a taxi or car, the obstacle was a falling tree).

Was that in Forrest Gump too?

“You like it there? Great. Now get in the fucking house.”

Now I get it.

I wanted to give the clue…

It’s ironic because the person who says it has no legs. But I knew that would be a dead giveaway.

You got it!

Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump

I just now realized, after all the times I’ve seen this movie, that the Forrest Gump scene is also an homage to Midnight Cowboy.

Harry Nilsson’s “Everybody’s Talkin’” is playing while Forrest and Lt. Dan are crossing the street. I wonder if I knew that and had forgotten it.

Got to be one of the most parodied film scenes ever.

No one ever got this one I posted. Wish I could remember which movie it was from.

“A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.”

No worries. I got excited when I saw your post — I lived in Yucatán, so I was looking forward to enjoying this film I somehow had missed, called Yucatec Man.

Nothing on IMDb.

Then it dawned on me what had happened, and I had a good laugh.

I just realized I put Yucatec Man instead of Yucatec Mayan. I can see why you thought It was another movie. Sorry for the mix-up.

Mixba’al! (It’s nothing!)

“Essentially, we’re just talking about fluid exchange, right?”

I’m not sure, but that sounds like Demolition Man.

Ha, that’s a good guess! It is about sex, but actually it’s a drama.

“These go to eleven!”
