Challenge us with a non-famous line from a movie

My first instinct was Radio Days, but we just did a quote from that. Maybe Annie Hall?

Funny, no, but the same filmmaker!

It’s from Witness. The Amish grandfather is teaching the Philadelphia cop character (Harrison Ford) how to milk a cow. The cop replies, “Not one this big!,” eliciting a hearty laugh from the otherwise stern old man.

I’m probably biased (obviously), but I can’t imagine anyone who has seen Jaws wouldn’t instantly recognize that speech, especially with the whole speech typed out. It gets referenced in other media somewhat regularly, and is recognized as one of the most famous movie scenes of all time, with its own interesting production backstory. It’s as non-famous as the “Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor” speech.

“Leave my house! I never want to see you again - you X!”, where the title of the film is The X.

“Communism is just a red herring.”

That’s from Clue.

If it is from clue then the quote is wrong because it is:

Communism was just a red herring.

No hits yet on:

How can an idiot be a policeman?

Oh, it’s one of the Pink Panther movies. I may be able to remember which one.

It’s something like:

Clouseau: “How can a (something be a something)?”
Dreyfus: “How can an idiot be a policeman?”
Clouseau: “Well, first he has to enlist…”

I think it’s probably from A Shot in the Dark, when Clouseau is convinced of Maria Gambrelli’s innocence, despite all the evidence against her.

Correct it is from a Pink Panther movie, and those are the participants in the conversation, but it is not A Shot in the Dark it is from The Return of the Pink Panther the dialogue goes like this:

Clouseau: He was blind. How can a blind man be a lookout?
Dreyfus: How can an idiot be a policeman? Answer me that!
Clouseau: It’s very simple, all he has to do is enlist…

A quote from another movie:

Now that is a big door!

Her: Are you excited?
Him: Like the French when Lindbergh landed.

Night Shift

(I use that line all the time)

Correct!

My favorite lines from that move (that I use all the time) are:

Manetti: Now, listen, helium-head; how hard is it to pass out some towels?
Bill: Well, it’s a skill like anything else.

and

Chuck: He’s not a towel boy. He’s an idea man!
Manetti: He couldn’t find his asshole with a funnel.

“Same jacket?”
“No, new jacket.”

“Who made you Pope of this dump?”

As Pericles said to the Athenians, “Where do I drain the lizard?”.

Sounds like Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack, but I’m not certain.
