A little slow-paced by modern standards, but I really appreciated how much they were able to accomplish with practical effects and the way the Kobayashi Maru scene at the beginning foreshadows Spock’s sacrifice at the end. They could’ve done more to play up the fact that Khan was a genocidal tyrant instead of just a buff old guy in Mad Max gear, and it was a little disappointing that he and Kirk never actually meet face-to-face in the movie, but overall excellent, and Ricardo Montalban is absolutely hamming it up in every single scene he’s in to the point that Shatner seems sedate by comparison. Also, the red jacket with the flap is my all-time favorite Starfleet uniform and I want one.
I’m gonna have to rewatch The Search For Spock and The Voyage Home when I get back from vacation so as to close out that trilogy.
