Wow! I’m impressed! ![]()
I love old Disney.
Here’s one for you:
“This time, we’ve got him for sure!”
I’m also thinking of an old Disney film.
The Fox and the Hound?
scratches chin You know, maybe it’s in that too. I was thinking of another one, though.
So many possibilities. Maybe Robin Hood? Or older than that?
Animated or live action?
Robin Hood; that’s what I had in mind.
“If a man washes a dish and no one sees it…”
[Together] “…Did it happen?”
Sorry, no idea. Is it another Disney quote?
This one is:
“This meeting can do nothing more to save the country!”
Movie, actor, and the figure he’s portraying, please!
Nope, not Disney. And I’ve got no idea on yours, either.

I’ll give you a clue: It’s the kind of movie you might have seen in class when you were in fifth or sixth grade (in the USA), which is where I saw it. The line is spoken just before a certain historic event.
I’ll make my best guess:
Denzel Washington as Malcolm in Malcolm X?
I haven’t seen Malcolm X, but I don’t think it’s a Disney film. ![]()
The actor is someone who makes people of my generation say “Oh, hey, it’s that guy!”
Hmmm, I might need to enjoy a Boston Lager whilst I ponder this one…
You’re in the right city! ![]()
Maybe Marion will get him one ![]()
Not Francis, surely! ![]()
BTW, I just looked at the IMDb entry and saw (much to my surprise) that the actor I was thinking of is indeed in the film but apparently does not deliver the line, as I clearly remember him doing.
I know it was 50+ years ago, but I can’t believe my memory is that bad!
“That’s the way I like 'em,…big and sassy!”
“I can do anything I want. I’m eccentric.”
Millionaire John Cleese in Rat Race.
“Do you know how much water it takes the Germans to make a ton of steel?”
Michael Redgrave as Dr Barnes Wallis in The Dam Busters.
“Alright, stand back you pedestrians, this ain’t no automobile accident.”
George Kennedy as “Dragline” in Cool Hand Luke, just before the egg-eating contest.
“And now, Leftenant Bergman, we will discuss the reason for your visit to Norway.”
Hot Gestapo interrogator in 633 Squadron.
“This meeting can do nothing more to save the country!”
Disney’s Johnny Tremain, spoken by Sam Adams prior to the Boston Tea Party. I was sure Sam was played by the late, great Whit Bissell (Star Trek, The Time Tunnel), but IMDb says the actor was Rusty Lane. Bissell evidently played American patriot Josiah Quincy.)
In case you were wondering, Lt Col Francis Marion was played by the late, great Leslie Nielsen in Disney’s The Swamp Fox. But surely you knew that.
Another one:
"But Marx wasn’t a German. Marx was a Jew.”
“The interests of Spain do not command my attention as they obviously do that of His Lordship.”
