Perks mainly buy things like special costume pieces and little guys that will follow your character around and not do anything. Before you get excited about the special costume pieces it’s typically kill 1000 of an enemy type to unlock a cape with a symbol on it and 5000 to get a head piece that they might wear. These are only for the character who earned the perk.
I finally put away my Nemesis, permanently. And I made my second one.
There’s definitely a lack of missions once you get past level 30. Before then, I was typically doing missions one or two levels below my level. Now that I’m in the mid-30s, I’m having to do missions at my own level. Of course, I did skip the 5-player missions, so that’s probably put me below the ideal curve.
So, no new content since release?
Actually, there’ve been new costume parts, a whole new powerset, and a lot of side quests added.
New content released this week: “Vibora Bay”, a swampy, voodooy Gulf-Coast city. It’s aimed for levels 37-40. Start it with an NPC in the science building on the main plaza in Millennium City. There’s also new costume pieces, and a few high-tier powers.
My main was “stuck” at level 39 with no missions that level or lower, so this is perfect for me. I’ll play this a while until the new Star Trek season comes out in several weeks.
Or, er. Today. It came out today.
I finished the crisis zone for Vibora Bay, and I have to say it was a lot of fun. They put together a nice chain of missions, with a good story. Even more cool, was that I hit level 40 right before the end of the climatic battle.
