Change in thread title placement, or type style?

Fine, but give me back the good skin. We went through this with Ed’s crappy “mobile” skin. It costs literally nothing to create a new skin with the dumbass SEO stuff, and those who like it have it as the default, as do new users. But those of us who liked the good skin can still have it. Nobody loses anything except a tiny amount of HDD space on the server.

Why don’t the people at the Admin side get that More Choices for User Reading Comfort=ALWAYS better*?

*Don’t nitpick, yes, 50,000,000,000 options is too many. You knew what I meant.

Do they still do the pop-unders / page hijacks to some BS ad like they used to? Any site that does that to me gets closed & never to be returned to.

I’m not sure how much revenue is made from those but think about how much revenue is lost when noobs run, fleeing from the Dope, never to buy a membership or see another ad, or contribute & make this a better place. They’re about 160 of the death by 1000 cuts.

The SDMB has such a small userbase (compared to what it was) that it’s not worth risking a regular poster over such a stupid, unnecessary cosmetic change.

Just clone the old, pre-broken skin and let us use it.

Looks fine to me now.

Nothing has looked any different to me any time I’ve been here.

Looks back to the old way here, too. Checking the source, it looks like the titles of posts are in <H2> tags. I didn’t check what they were before.

I’ve looked at the source code before, and I don’t remember seeing <h2> tags. Unfortunately I don’t quickly see any pages I had saved to check.

If they are actually tweaking things, it would be nice if the CODE tags and SPOILER tags inside QUOTES were fixed, too.

They put things back like they were. All should be fine now. Please let me know if it isn’t.

They put things back to looking how they did before, at least. If it was using <b> or something before, instead of <h2>, then this change should still have the SEO effects they were hoping for. Which is a good thing.
