My guess is that he was thinking about being impeached following the Jan 6 insurrection, and then Mark Meadows sued Pelosi and the committee who were investigating Trump’s role in the riots. And his addled brain mixed them up.
But he’s a stable genius!
As far as his appearance goes, one speculation I’ve heard is that after the shooting security/paranoia has prevented him from undergoing his usual cosmetic regime. In any case I expect that the shooting is behind at least some of any changes we see, something like that is going to affect him.
I also think it’s a fantasy for himself, because I think a major reason why he’s running for President in the first place was to get revenge on Biden for daring to win against him. Trump still hasn’t given up on rhetoric about the election being “stolen”, he can’t stand the thought of losing and wanted to get one-up again on Biden by winning in 2024 - and he’s having trouble handling the fact that Biden made that permanently impossible by stepping back in favor of Harris. Which IMHO is why Trump keep periodically swinging back to attacking Biden; Biden is the one he wants to win against, not Harris.
Yeah, he acts like there’s someone just off stage who will chime in to confirm that he’s telling the truth.

The Supreme Court dismissed other emoluments lawsuits against Trump in 2021, but, Googling, I did not find the status of the 2017 case. However, if it was still active, or if Trump had lost, I think we would know it.

I’ve had that reaction to several stories this week, starting with the Arlington cemetery story. Saw it on Facebook, and thought it just had to be fake.

I’ve been avoiding most anything to do with that scumbag (per my “agita” thread), so hadn’t seen this story. Doesn’t surprise me in the least. This prick cares nothing for veterans or for those who have died in service to the country, and for him to make a big photo op out of it is disgusting in the extreme.
Trump said that Biden would be drugged up during their debate. Ever since then, I’ve figured Trump has been taking drugs for his public appearances.
Trump has a history of projecting his own flaws on to his opponents. It’s like he needs to convince himself that what he’s doing isn’t wrong because the other guy is doing it too. And Trump’s dim-witted enough that he can make up a lie, tell it, and then believe the lie is true.
