You shouldn’t have spoken so fast! in Romanche it’s “chaschiel” or “chaschöl” (I found two different spellings.)

Actually, even though the “gâteau au fromage” aka chaeschuechli is popular, I would say that better candidates for the national dish would be rösti, fondue or raclette.
