Charging an iBook off a portable battery

My brother wants to take his iBook to Iraq and be able to recharge it in the field. I need recommendations for doing one of the two:

  1. Using solar panels to provide power through either a standard 120v plug or a female 12v cigarette lighter plug. I don’t know where to get the female plug so that the male plug from the computer matches.

  2. Using a portable battery like is used to recharge car batteries in an emergency. This sounds cheaper, especially if the battery has a standard 120v plug. Does anyone know of a good recommendation for one of these?

Well, on this page in the online apple store, you can scroll down to the bottom and find several power adapters that may work. I don’t know if these would work in this case, though. Would he have access to an automobile cigarette lighter type plug?
