Charity stops at Christians

I think that you may have forgotten about Johnny and Luther. While not quite as bad as “trying to crash planes, shoot at our soldiers or bomb nightclubs”, taking over a hospital and holding hostages ranks up there.

Just to keep it interesting for Leon497, they were a Christian group.

And Siam Sam, you better watch your post count, I am slowly catching up!

Sorry, all I have is the original PS game. And for that matter, if you have a PS3, you’d be better off buying it online for $10 as a download.

I missed the original thread, so I’m glad this one was started. I donated $10 - how often do you get the chance to feed Burmese orphans AND fund acts of terrorism against the USA for the price of lunch? Thanks for the heads up,SiamSam - and Leon too!

Eat my dirt! :stuck_out_tongue: (But I’m impressed that this thread has prompted you to up your total post count by 16.7%!)

Ah, yes, Johnny and Luther Htoo. I wonder what they’re doing these days? A pair of ethnic-Karen twins who were taken for holy, er, infants by their ethnic compatriots. Born about 1988, they were about 12 at the time they directed the hospital siege here in Thailand, across their border on our upper peninsula. They seem to have been miffed at Thai shelling of Karen positions. Man, did Thailand ever get the raiders back. Once all of them were captured (Johnny and Luther were not present, but rather had only sent them over) and the hospital was secured, the army took them off into a room and just shot them all, to the widespread and vocal approval of all of Thailand. A bit cold-blooded, but I’ll tell ya, there’s not been a single raid in the almost 11 years since. Not a one. (The Wikipedia link says they were shot “allegedly” after they surrendered, but there’s no “allegedly” about it. News photos at the time clearly showed them in custody, then showed them all dead. And the former hospital staff hostages who were present all confirmed the raiders had been taken off and shot, along with sentiments of good fucking riddance to them.)

Thanks for the help. Leon is a great little fundraiser.

I’m sure Leon means well. He seems to have a rather limited world view. Reminds me of the people I escaped from back in West Texas, good-hearted (probably) but not caring one whit to have their ignorance fought, preferring to wallow in it instead, wearing it on their sleeves like some perverse badge of honor.

Cuba?

This is a very silly suggestion. You should be ashamed. Mr Topsy is not some everyday, household idiot, fit only to play and entertain children. He is a prize imbecile.

Making him dance and bang cymbals would be undignified for such a splendid example of the breed. Look at that vacant stare, that slackened jaw, that self-righteous stance. Is he not magnificent? Surely this is as fine, as noble an example of an imbecile as you’ve ever seen.

Gyrate, Leon497, you are right: I forgot about the Church of England. I didn’t consider the Vatican because, honestly, it is about an acre in area with a population of less than 1000 and, anyway, the Vatican is definitely not going to be condoning the kind of actions we are talking about.

I may try to justify myself by saying that I wrote “practically” everywhere when it came to the separation of church and state. Nonetheless, the UK is a big country and I really should have kept it in mind.

Nonetheless, the point was to give an example of a Majority Christian country which supported terrorism against the U.S.A. My example was Venezuela, which I think fulfills the conditions asked about by Leon497.

There were only six, not a hundred, and they took them all down in 1963.

Google “Serbia Bosnia Kosovo” if you know how.

Doubtful. Your ilk already knows the eternal answers.

Seven posts in nine years? Are you one of those guys we read about who’s being held prisoner in a Bangkok Massage Parlour?

I’m not sure it would be possible for your posts to be any more ignorant and illiterate, although you’re welcome to give it a shot if you want.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention Leon, as an anti-USA atheist with terrorist tendencies I had been searching for a worthy cause. I hope my modest donation does some good.

Not to interrupt the righteous pitting of a genuine dumbass, but I have a comment:

Now, I’m not accusing anyone or any group of anything (and I don’t know as much about Burma as I might know about, say, China or Japan), but I’ve heard that some of those opposition tribes aren’t all that great themselves. I don’t have any cites at hand, but I seem to remember reading something about the Karen National Liberation Army using some pretty brutal methods against groups and individuals who wont join their war against the junta. I’m not gonna support the Northern Alliance just because they also hate the Taliban. Same thing in Burma: I have no love for the junta, but I’m not gonna support a group who, for example, discriminates against non-Buddhist minorities and extorts war money from poor farmers* just because “my enemy’s enemy is my friend.”
*(both things I’ve heard the KNLA does, though I can’t remember where I heard that)

Ah, no, actually that might be me.

It’s quite a complicated situation in that country. But while I know not_alice was speaking about a different outfit, and she can answer for them herself, I just want to say again that the group I’m pushing is a clinic in Thailand that works with poor Burmese on the Thai side of the border. Medical assistance, children and young adults aged 20 or below. So that concern is not a consideration in this case.

Of course, Sam. I’m sure you’re nothing but a decent fellow trying to do the right thing. No worries.

How about the drug cartel-related murders that are happening left and right in Mexico currently? Good Christians all of them, I’m sure. :dubious:

This keeps getting repeated in this thread, so I figured I would comment. McVeigh did not do his thing out of religious motives, and as this Wiki link shows, he didn’t have much of any religion at all. Oklahoma City may have been a nasty piece of work, but it does not serve as an example of “Christian terrorism”.

ETA: I agree Leon is a douche. And I know a lot of other Christian douches.

ETA, again: I see Douche addressed that in his reply. He’s still a douche.

Mr. Freud, your slip is showing.

Christians is the silliest creatures…

Has nothing to do with it. I’m a Christian, and I’m pretty embarrased by what you have to say here.
