Charlotte Area Dopers! - It's Pub Crawl time!

It’s been four years (almost) to the day since we’ve all been together. This is a grievous situation that needs to be rectified. However, rather than Linda Wertheimer, our very own Southern Yankee is hosting the third (Much More Frequent Than) Annual Waxhaw Pub Crawl. This is a very fun event that supports the local businesses in the Waxhaw area. And did I mention it’s fun?

I understand the bustling metropolis of Waxhaw may be a little out of the way for [del]some[/del] most of you, but it is a lot of fun (detect a theme?). Best of all: you get the chance to watch Southern and Mrs Yankee sing karaoke. It’s always a good show. Unlike when I sing: That’s classified as a war crime in several countries.

T-Shirt and and beer hugger sales support Project2Heal, which raises and trains Labradors to be service dogs and companions for children with special needs.

Here’s the schedule:

ETA: The Crawl is this Saturday, October 8.

Thanks for the plug! Just a few corrections, good sir:

Saturday, October 6.

This year’s charity is actually a local food bank called The Waxhaw Co-Op. (Project2Heal was last crawl.) There’s no charge to join the crawl (except what you drink, of course,) but all proceeds from t-shirts and koozies go to the Co-Op.

I looked at my calendar and saw a six, I thought, “six”, and I still typed 8.

I would totally drive up if I weren’t going to be elsewhere for my bachelorette party. :frowning:

Skip it! :stuck_out_tongue: (Or congratulations!)

Or move your Bachelorette Party up to Waxhaw!

I would, but we’re going to my matron of honor’s beach house for the weekend and that’s a bit of a long haul.

I’m working this Saturday, but will definitely see if I can make it.

One more plug before the weekend.

Aw, crap. Sorry y’all! Work wasn’t especially tiresome today, but it appears to have wiped me out. Hope it’s a good time!

UPDATE: We wound up raising $1629 for the local food bank last night. Good fun for a good cause! Maus Magill and his lovely bride certainly did their part!
