Was wondering if anyone out there is going on the 12 Bars of X-mas pub crawl Saturday, 12/14. There are two by that name. The Lincoln Park one was last weekend, the Wrigleyville one is this weekend. (I THINK!) Very well attended. All day and into the evening. For some reason I could just picture Dopers there!

Boy, this is going to be a scream once I am Miss Popularity around here, and someone digs up my old stuff and is ASTOUNDED that ever there was a post that I was involved in, which did not end up clogged with traffic. Not to mention the allure of meeting me personally, which many would pay good money for. <-------( Let it go, it’s too easy.)

I was at the Lincoln Park one, if you mean the one on 12/5. Gone on it for years. (I know one of the organizers very well.) Had a great time that night, and a not-so-great one the following day.
Well, I haven’t stayed as on top of events as usual lately. But there is definitely a second one, bigger I think, and I believe it’s 12/14. Not sure what I’ll end up doing Saturday, but can & will find out the bar itinerary just in case. I think it always goes through the Wrigley area and ends up somewhere like Goose Island. So, details can be forwarded if you/anyone wants to post interest here or e-mail me.
Already have plans, sorry. If not for the plans, I’d be there. Maybe in the new year we should do a Chi-Dope pub crawl? (Just a thought and not an offer to organize, yet)

No time during the holidays, but I’m down for it in January!
I’d also love to but can’t manage this kind of thing on short notice (wife & child have most of my time).
If we can plan ahead for a January pub-crawl I’m definitely up for it!
Great you guys, I’m looking forward to it. There’s too much going on around the holidays anyway, but once we get into January we have many dull, gray months with much less going on. (EXCEPT St. Patrick’s day, that’s the next holiday of note!! Also a great time to do all-day Irish pubs, and no real organizing would be necessary, as we already know where people tend to show up & start early: Butch McGuire’s, O’Callaghan’s, Irish Eyes, etc. etc.)
Anyway, I’m not a great organizer either, but as far as a January or February pub crawl being set up, if most of us just gather a couple friends to bring along on some dreary afternoon, whose company we’d enjoy regardless, nothing will be lost if it flops as a Formal Dope Fest. But consider the possibilities if it indeed went over well: I bet some of the Michigan crew might even trek on over. As long as the event goes from dusk to dawn, so to speak, it would be worth the trip. Could also set a no-pressure place to meet for a Bear’s game afternoon sometime, for those who can do Sundays!
Maybe we could get a Sticky going, if providing mid-winter cheer to the good weather deprived tugs at the heartstrings of some kind Admin/Mod!
