First thought was that this was a misplaced Pit thread about a Doper named Charlotte.
Then Charlotte’s Web.
Then the city in NC.

You take that back, lieu. She was a smart little spider, maybe the smartest little spider ever. I still don’t understand why she had to…
…'swhat I thought of too.
Ditto. When are you making the move to NC?
Exactly that, in the same order.
My two year old niece, Charlotte.
#2, Queen Charlotte, in particular. Probably because I was looking at a map of the Queen Charlotte Islands yesterday.
Charlotte’s Web. Probably because I grew aware of the upcoming movie this weekend.
A specific person.
The name (which is my first choice for a baby girl’s name, if I ever have one).
Am I the only one who thought of the Iron Maiden song “Charlotte the Harlot”?
Ahem, perhaps that’s for the best…
That would be the name of my second daughter.
As for the inspiration before that, it would probably be the title character from the book Charlotte’s Web. Though the Queen Charlottle Islands might have to get an honorable mention.
The town in North Carolina that, according to The Simpson’s, used to be named “Hitler City”.
I thought of the web-spinner, for personal reasons: the pig in that story is kind of a rival of mine. (I’m much cooler.)
Charlotte’s Web was first for some reason, even though I’ve never seen the movie or read the book.
Then a doll. My sister used to have a doll called Charlotte. I think it was made by my mother or grandmother or something.
Finally the name.
Not a single specific person, place, or band crossed my mind at all.
I thought of the song “Charlotte Anne,” by Julian Cope.
And I keep singing it every time I look at the thread listing for IMHO, too. Good thing I like the song!
I just thought of the name Charlotte, which I like. I think Charlotte, NC is also well and good.
Name
The book, Charlotte’s Web
I have to say…that character in Sex and the City. Sad, and I don’t even watch the show.
Okay, at least it wasn’t the first thing I thought of, that would be the web-slinger.
Charlotte Bronte
Then, I thought that a girl named Charlotte could be called Charlie, which is what I call my son.
My daughter. My wife called out thousands of names from the baby name book and it was a pattern of “Nope”, “No Way”, “No” from me until she got to Charlotte. It clicked and I said “That’s a perfect name!”. He she is.
