Charlotte

The woman’s name, generally.

Charlotte: Light and Dark

First Charlotte Michigan, pronounced here as shar-LOT

Then the web

Number one for me.

Hush Hush, Sweet Charlotte

Dead heat between Charlotte’s Web and Charlotte, NC.

Followed closely by, of all things, Carlotta Valdez from Vertigo, in a similar-name kind of way.

A particular person named Charlotte.

I also thought of the name, mainly because we’re considering using it if we have a girl in August.

E.

  1. Charlotte’s Web, with Paul Lynne as the heterosexual rat

  2. Charlotte Corday, who’s head was said to have blushed when slapped by her executioner

  3. since I veered French on #2, “Waiting for Godot,” titled from God + Charlot, “Charlot” for Charlie Chaplin.

  4. still French-minded, Carlotta, Empress of Mexico, originally the Belgian Princess Charlotte, who was played by Betty Davis in Juarez.

Oh, please consider reading the book. It’s wonderful…and then move on to Stuart Little and The Trumpet of the Swan and then all the Oz books and you’ll be reliving my childhood.

City in NC, then dessert, then the book.

But mostly, why does it matter?

My mother’s aging spider plant.

Charlotte has been in the family as long as I can remember and has many children, grand children and even great great grandchildren started from her.

Well, why does it matter why it matters? :stuck_out_tongue: Let me get as many responses as I can, and then I’ll explain why I it mattered to me. Explaining it now might bias the results.

That one!

The city. But only because it’s a thread. If somebody jusdt randomly muttered the word “Charlotte” on the street I’d probably think of the girl’s name.

The woman’s name; I was in the process of wondering whether it was a relative, coworker, friend, etc., of the OP.

Charlotte Russe, the clothing store in the mall

Charlotte Church.

The city.

Charlotte, North Carolina for me.
