"Charmed" season finale--what happened at the very end? (SPOILERS, natch)

I’m embarassed by how much I know about Charmed, seeing as I don’t watch it/like it like I do Buffy, etc.

But my wife and I were watching the season finale last night, and we were unsure about what happened at the end:

The kid from the future and Leo, now an Elder, are chatting on the porch. Leo, though mistrustful, tells the kid that he’s the witches’ new whitelighter. Then he orbs himself away back up to heaven, or wherever.

But, as his blue sparkly trail is ascending into the sky, the kid from the future snaps his fingers at him in apparent annoyance, and Leo’s blue trail vanishes.

Now, I just assumed that the kid was pissed at Leo (and is obviously EVIL…) and was snapping his fingers at him, giving him a little smack on the behind to say “to heck with you, old man!”

But my wife insists that the kid actually KILLED Leo! What happened? Anyone else catch this? Has Leo been destroyed in a mid-orb accident?

That is pretty much what it looks like, or at very least he was dispersed and will take a while to “pull himself together” so to speak. Not that I watch the show, mind you, er…um…My Wife! Yea, that’s it! She makes us watch it!

Looks like it.

And Leo’s trail didn’t vanish… it went boom.

Oh…

A friend of mine thinks that Chris(the whitelighter from the future) is really a future version of Wyatt.

That was my assumption from the start, Mockingbird. … though the two don’t really have matching hair, etc., so who knows.

Spoilers, maybe?

Well, he said he was from 20 years in the future, which would be about the right age, and he seemed powerful for a whitelighter.

Additionally, when he was first introduced, it was strongly suggested he wasn’t really named Chris. And there was one point in the dialogue where Piper had to remind him that there was a baby in their family.

I’m just saying, is all…

Maybe he and Cole hooked up (or did they kill him? He was especially cool as uber-evil crazy lovesick guy) and Cole turned him evil?

I was wondering whether Leo got killed or not, too. Chris seemed concerned about Leo saving everybody “up there.” Not part of the plan, it seems.

I knew that little bugger was trouble from the moment I saw him. Has anyone else noticed that you can spot the bad guys on that show by eyebrows? Also, is it wrong that I found the Elf nanny attractive?

I was convinced throughout that Chris was Wyatt, too - I didn’t know how to take the " I’ll get them all to trust me eventually" part, though, since it could be taken as Chris is sinister, or if he was Wyatt they’d trust him to use his powers even though he’s a boy. Hmmm.

Back a few episodes, the one with the marriage counciling, did anyone else catch the fact that the bride and groom cake thingie wasn’t restored and figure that it foreshadowed Piper and Leo breaking up? I assumed it would be like it was in the future episode in season three, but this works too (I’m not fond of Leo). I doubt he’s dead- though I admit I didn’t catch the trail disappearing, just the door slamming closed on its own- because…I’m never that lucky. They only kill off or write-out the cute guys on Charmed.
