Howdy Y’all! Finally at da cave after a loooooooooooong day. Sketti night over to the church house turned out to be taco night instead. Seems a switch was made in menus and last night was sketti night. No biggie. I browned ground beast and seasoned it up for tacos instead of sketties. I actually had a good time tonight. Maybe some really good Pinot Noir had sump’n to do with that. The grownups hung out while the kiddies did the VBS thing. Even OYKW who came to hang out for tacos admitted he had a good time. Matter of fact, we’re goin’ back there tomorrow night for pizza night. I agreed to go a little earlier to help make up a sallit (the theme is “Growing In God’s Garden” so sallit of some sort plays a part each night). Plus, hey, wine!
gotti yay for the I reckon minor problem and hope it clears up soonest. Also yay for the lawn service. I still don’t mind mowin’, edgin’ and trimmin’ da yahd but if I ever tire of it I will have no qualms with hirin’ a good, dependable lawn service.
sari what MOOOOOOM said. You need a place of your own and the sooner the better.
Apes the twin girls that got Baptized Sunday last week over to the church house had on plain white dresses their mom found at a local department store. I thought they were just perfect for a Baptism and they both looked quite snazzy. Plus I’m sure they were infinitely more comfy in those than they would have been in a traditional Baptismal gown.
Sticky here’s hopin’ Dave’s friend’s injuries are not too serious and she’s on the mend soonest.
flytrap I have no idea. I’m not real sure there is a list of mumper bdays but mayhaps there should be.
If I’ve forgotten anything, well, yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, pointy stick wieldin’ Sri Lankan Spiders, noogies, how you doin’s as needed.
House 1 is 69.900, has everything new, prefect pristine move in condition
but no off street parking
House 2 is 73,000 is smaller and is livable but needs some work
has driveway but nothing has been upgraded so the chances are it is going to need new roof and new appliances soon as well as kitchen cabinet was chewed by dog.
house 1 it will probably be years before I have to fix or replace anything but you can’t create parking where none exists and the street is crowded. It’s not likely to cost me anything for quite a while
house 2 has the space to park and nicer yard, everything is on one level but appliances are old and I think the roof may need replacing in a few years. It’s on a quiet dead end street
For the money house 1 is the better buy
For the practical house 2 is better
I could see myself in either of them
I have a feeling house 1 will pass the home inspection with flying colors
I have a feeling house 2 is going to have some issues
The problem with house 2 is I’m afraid that right away I am going to be replacing appliances and or the furnace and hot water heater
I’m not going to have a lot of money right away
I often envy my tenant, G-d bless him, who only need call me when there are problems.
I just finished paying $165.00 a month for his new A/C and furnace.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) who cooks as well or better than I, brought home some pre made ground beef patties with cheese and jalapeno pepper in them, urged upon her by the butcher at her store; “They are really good!”
As we ate them, she said, “The butcher wasn’t lying to get me to buy them, but he never had you cook for him.”
I am back from my travels to foreign parts, had a fantastic time and found some great new bars including one that has re-opened and is now a rock/metal venue so that was a good place to find.
Belgium was stonkingly hot, I am officially fried. When I got home, the house was really hot too because it had been closed up all weekend so I opened the windows for a while - had to close the largest window when I went to bed but kept the rest open all night.
Unfortunately it was too hot to sleep, but I did hear the start of the rain at 3am and then the accompanying thunderstorm. One of the cats came in soaking wet just to show me that he’d been bravely out in the rain. The other one jumped from the windowsill onto the bed, climbed over me at high speed to get to the other side of the bed and then hid underneath it until the thunder stopped. She had a long night of it, it was still thundering when I left for work.
It’s finally stopped raining for a while, I guess all the local frogs have been strangled.
So figure what it’ll cost you to replace the appliances, etc, subtract that, plus a little for aggravation, from the asking price, and make that your offer, contingent on passing an inspection. Ask them to pay closing. If something major comes up in the inspection, ask them to pay that.
Worst they can do is say no.
Good morning! I’s exhausted. All the talk about mice in last week’s MMP had invaded my brain and I was dreaming about being in an office with mice. And I kept waking up.
Higgs got a long-overdue bath last night. She hates being bathed, but as long as **FCD **is quick about it, he can catch her and get her all washed up in about 10 minutes. She’d had her nails clipped on Sunday, so for a little while, she’s all groomed and stuff.
So far, no crabbers, but it is early. I may work in the yard again for a little while, and I’ve got to launder an afghan - it reeks of stinky dog. We keep it on the back of the easy chair, and Higgs likes snoozing there. Ergo, the blanket stinks.
Beyond that, no idea what the day holds. We shall see…
Welcome back, BooFae! Did you bring us all tacky souvenirs from your travels???
We got the storm about 4am- very impressive, by local standards, and I’m pretty sure something on the street got hit at one point, that was clooose.
It did not, however, hit the people opposite who decided to have a very loud domestic, both in the middle of the storm and the middle of the road, to which the police were called, with full on flashing lights and sirens.
It stopped a bit before 5, which was just in time for the fire alarm to go off (nothing to do with the lightning, it’s just crap).
I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night, for some reason.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 89 and yet again a forty percent chance of rain. Did I mention it poured for about an hour while I was at the church house last night? It had also rained here at da cave but did not appear to be as much.
Well said!
Just to give you an idea of just how classy and couth I am, this song plays in my haid whenever I drink wine.
Ok, now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.
Not only do I have a crabber today, but he’s the first one on my list - I’ll get #1 today! Yay!! At least I hope I will - he lands about 35 minutes from where I live and I’m supposed to get there 30 minutes ahead of his expected return time. If he changes his return time too abruptly, I may not get to monitor him at all. We shall see…
Meanwhile, I’s hongree!! Stoopit breakfast fairy let me down again!
It’s a very wet 73 degrees outside.
Today is pizza day and laundry day.
I got a good nights sleep and so I feel better today.
FCM very logical, thank you. I am getting with agent today and getting the ball rolling. If worst comes to worst and I end up hating the house nothing says I am stuck there the rest of my life.
Swampy, I was afraid for a minute that your link was to this song about wine. Now that I’ve gotten that song stuck in your head…

::runs away quickly::*
I has blurfage and slight panic that I am going to forget to take something on my upcoming journey. T minus 3 days to vacation. As much as I complain about it I am looking forward to a week away from irk. That will be nice.
