Chasing a dream into the MMP

:wolf whistle:
ETA: First!

Calm yourself, sir.
You are not behaving like a gentleman.
That is her Father’s shirt.
He is probably larger than you.
Get a grip.

Your Dad has good taste. And it looks good on you.

Cap’n This is reason 843: He’s slow to respond then curses, tattles & complains about it to anyone who does (or doesn’t) want to listen!

Does Hockey Lady know about your shameless flirting?

Hugs for Sticky - your OP was moving, and I’ve been keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I’ve been laid a bit low recently - I got the shingles vaccine a few weeks ago, and had a mild reaction to it (a red rash at the injection site, some swelling). Then the past few days I’ve been queasy, I don’t know if I ate something that didn’t agree with me or what (quite possible!), but I’m feeling better tonight. I didn’t eat lunch, so I really was not feeling well - if my appetite is down, then yeah something is making me sick, for sure. LOL For dinner, I just had some steamed veggies and rice with a bit of plain yogurt.

If anyone here watches “Longmire” on A&E network (a basic cable/dish network), I’ve been reading the books that the series is based on. They’re pretty good, if you want to check them out. I can’t recall the author’s name off the top of my head, but I’m finding the books to be very well written and easy to read. Especially when I’m able to get them in large print! LOL

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable week so far. The monsoon rains have been good this year in New Mexico, not enough to really make a dent in the drought but they’ve been good and steady, nearly every day. Temps were in the 80s for a while but are back into the 90s - at least it’s not humid!!!

She gets to drool over the hockey players.:stuck_out_tongue:

Me no like-um horse, either.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis a very hyooooomid 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 81 and ONLY a thirty percent chance of rain today. Tonight is the big VBS wrap up shebang which is planned as a pool party at a church member’s home that’s half a mile away from the church house. We shall see if’n we get the infamous late afternoon/early evenin’ rain/tstorm/apocalypse today. Plan B is to be at the church house where we can still do the cookout part but have indoor activities.

Glad you’re feelin’ better Herbs!

Ok, now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. Irk continues to irk me to the max btw.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

I must have been way more tired than I’d thought yesterday. I fell asleep while knitting, of all things, and I was in bed, dead asleep, by 9. I’m pretty sure I only woke when I did because of the dog.

We have an appointment for 4 this afternoon that we’ll have to cancel because some stoopit crabber, who hasn’t gone out in a month, decided he needed to go today, and according to his history, he always comes back between 3 and 4:30. Crap! So I’ll need to call and reschedule our appointment. Even if he comes in at 3, I’ll get caught in traffic, and it’s a long way from the marina to the appointment. Dammit. I’ll resked for Friday or Tues when I’m off.

The swelling on my hand is going down. It still itches a bit, but I’m pretty sure the worst has passed. I could even put my ring back on if I wanted to. Stoopit bee.

And I’ll have you know, I’m resisting the urge to link to the GEICO Hump Day commercial, even tho it cracks me up every time.

Happy Wednesday!!!

Heh heh heh. I like this one the best 'cause of the dog.

My game finally finished downloading so I played some of it last night. Detailed AGM has promised me a petit four at the Fancy Bakery downtown either today or tomorrow. This is partly for staying an hour later yesterday so Ferret could get her ass handed to her and partly because I missed Big Boss’s birthday cake Monday. There was a piece left, but Ferret pitched a fit and claimed it for hers. This is why I didn’t mind staying while her ass was handed to her. It was past time for that to happen.

Morning all,

I got a whole lotta nothin’ going on today at irk. Blurf.

Happy Hump Day!

It’s a cloudy 74 degrees outside with a projected high of 86. Not too bad.
I have to walk hellpup today, Sah-son needs to mow the lawn.

I wish I had a kid who wanted to drive.
At the rate we are going it’s going to take years to get his license.

Oh well, he was slow to walk, talk and potty train, why would I think driving would be different. Way ahead of the curve in other things, slow in all the milestones.
I think a whole hoard of Sri Lankin spiders with pointy sticks couldn’t motivate him to drive. Maybe 10 girls in bikinis could?

I am VERY grumpy today.

Today would not be a good day to ask BBBobbio for the loan of his giverdammer, I think it may be broken.

After the apocalyptic floods and storms yesterday, we are back to fine and sunny conditions. That means the office is hot and when I get home, the house will be boiling hot too. Not great, but I won’t be home for long because it’s pub night! I cheated and took something out of the freezer for dinner tonight so I won’t have to cook much, but I may have to spend half an hour vacuuming the carpets since Ophelia has decided that they should all have a white covering of her fur.

I have four more hours at irk, and no motivation. I suppose my motivation should be the fact that I will be going out later!

Crazy week at work, but I’ve skimmed and wanted to stop by and let Sticky know I’ve been thinking about her a lot this week.

Thought of her especially yesterday when I saw THE COOLEST THING EVER from my office window. It was raining and, apparently the sun was positioned perfectly for rainbows. The first one was extra-cool because it was BELOW me as I looked out the window onto the plaza by my building. It was barely visible, then a bit more pronounced, then disappeared, then back again. I tried taking a picture, but it only barely showed up.

The second was quite a ways across town, but across the sky and ended over a huge sculpture by the art school downtown.

This post is being brought to you by the huge exercise in patience called “the bus broke down.” Sadly we’re in a spot where you can’t safely get off and walk.

New bus should be here momentarily, though.

Hugs all.

Gt

Heh, be careful what you ask for. I was car crazy around that age, couldn’t wait to get my license and used to sneak my mom’s, grandmom’s or whoever’s car out every chance I got. I even took dad’s friend’s E-Type Jaguar out one night in 8th grade and thankfully didn’t get caught or it would have been my butt. First accident in 9th grade with a borrowed car, right in front of school during finals. Ha, that was a scene!

So… maybe this isn’t totally a bad thing after all?

It’s intact, and you can have it because I’m not using it.

Want to swap it for my halo? Similar condition, one careful owner? Actually, that’s not strictly true, it’s never been taken out of the box…not my colour, you understand.

Mine is going for his test Aug 20. He turns 18 on Sep 26. I am teetering between amussed and astounded that it took this long, but the driving school could get lapped by a snail.

Blurf.

Had a lovely evening last night–Roomie and I just sat at opposite ends of the couch all night, reading quietly. Around 9:30, she suddenly raised her head and looked at me and said “Do you think other people do this? Just sit in the same room for hours reading separately, without talking?” I like to think they do.

This morning at work we had some excitement that involved me finding an earwig in a box of files, a coworker accidentally flinging said earwig at another coworker with a fly swatter, and second coworker screaming like a little bitch and diving behind one of our VPs when the bug came at her.

Then I laughed for ten minutes.
