Cheap Vegas trip

It’s getting cold in the frozen north and the wife wants to take off to LasVegas.

So where is the best place to get a deal on air/hotel from Minneapolis?
There’s tons of websites from Travelocity, Orbitz, Worryfreevacations, etc. etc.
I also see tons of ads in the travel section of the local paper every Sunday.
Then I hear people say to book it all through an airline for the best deal.
Then some say to book it through the hotel.

I want to stay somewhere preferably on the strip south of Treasure Island (no circus-circus or stratosphere).
It looks like Fri and Sat nights are a no-no since rates go up.
It also looks like 3 nights starting on a Sunday and 4 nights cost about the same.

Looks like prices are around $500-$700 a couple???

Is this the best thats out there?

Mrs. RickJay and I got a flight and hotel for four nights for about $700 US through www.i4vegas.com - check it out.

I just spend 4 days in LV last week (on business). I was amazed at the growth that occurred in that town. If you haven’t LV it in a couple of years, you may not recognize it.
Here are a few statistics that I heard on the local TV station regarding LV.
[ul][li]Most popular restaurants. I don’t remember the names, but one each in the Bellagio and Mandalay Bay. [/li][li]Average price of a dinner = $34.95[/li][li]Average price of a drink = $9.42[/li][li]Average monthly growth = 9000 people[/ul][/li]My observations
[ul][li]The daily temperature = mid 50’s [/li][li]Gasoline, regular low lead = $1.79/gallon[/li][li]Fast Food, maybe, somewhere.[/ul][/li]I was with locals and followed their advice regarding gambling.(don’t) Even without gambling, it is an awesome place.
The hotels all have wire and wireless access, so take your notebook. Weekday rates are
In the high $30’s. (The Orleans for example) Weekend, are much higher.
A package may get you around the weekend rates, but check the days and holidays involved.

The 500 to 700 per couple price. My guess is this. You know those rooms out behind the RV parking…the ones with the canvas roofs…Yes, those, and the entertainment, you’ll get all the free lounge shows you want.
Put your own package together, go during the week.

Drachillix and I booked our room at the Sahara from TravelWorm and our flight from the airport’s website. Round trip air on Monday night, return on Wednesday night and room is about 240.00.
But it’s supposed to rain in Las Vegas next week…so much for fun in the sun.
Still it’s better than the dreary weather here and there’s so much to do indoors!

 I am a avid Las Vegas goer… I love it there. My friends and I stay at the Luxor practically everytime we go. The have great rates, a great casino, great buffet and awesome ambience. Also, The Luxor is right next to some of the best hotels and casinos- Mandalay Bay, MGM, New York New York… etc… Luxor also has a great little club called RA where you can get in free with no line before 11pm. I would suggest calling the Luxor reservations and speaking with a representative to explore your options. They could help with a great deal with hotel/airline package as well. Also, ask about specials on rooms- I am always getting special deals from them in the mail- and you dont have to be a member to receive those benefits.

If you want to pay less go from Monday thru Thursday. However, if your looking for the best in fun including a Friday or Saturday night in your trip is preferable. My friends and I tend to go Thursday through Saturday. Definitly avoid departing LV on Sunday’s- it is the heaviest in travel days in LV by FAR!
