If’n you remember this thread, you’ll know I had a robin’s nest outside my home office window. Well, I thought I’d check on it today, and looky-see, there’s BABIES in it. Lil’ ROBIN babies!
Welcome to the world, Pip and Squeak and Hob and Nob. One o’ you is still an egg, but I bet you’ll hatch soon!
That reminds me of the time I was living in Reston Va. The company I worked for had a big pond and a lot of geese hung out in the area. Every spring the geese would come out trailing a bunch of little chicks behind them. A nice visual for a smoke break…
How cool! We had a robins nest outside our house last year. Sadly, one of the eggs never hatched, but the other two (maybe three? I don’t remember) did and grew into perfectly lovely robins.
Oh my gosh! How cute! Congratulations, Vicarious Aunt Athena!
My SO is currently raising 3 baby blue-jays that were abandoned. (Either that, or his cat got ahold of the mom. :() He or his mom has to feed them every two hours, and eventually I guess they will have to go back in the wild. They were in a nest at the top of the drainage pipe for the gutter, and they fell out. The mom has not been seen since then. But they seem happy and healthy, so I guess all’s well for now. Keep us updated!
