I got tired of the cheap aluminum canes from the drug store so I decided to splurge on some good wooden canes.
Canes 1&3 are from Fashionable Canes, cane 2 is from Walking Cane Co.
1-The Knockabout.
Inexpensive, made from Raminwod, this one is destined for rough use that may result in dents and scuffing.
2-The Daily Driver.
Hickory with a walnut stain. Everyday use.
3-All Dressed Up.
Cocobolo. Special occasions and those times I just feel like stylin’.
Those are very fetching, especially the “fancy” one. I like the little embellished metal accent. I love wood; it just gets better with age.
Kinda like men.
This is my fancy cane:

It’s steel, but hollow so that it doesn’t weigh too much.
Wow. That is some serious craftsmanship.
That is STUNNING.
I assume it’s a custom job, who was the artist?
There’s a necklace in the album made by the same person, I think. Very cool artwork.
Fun! This reminded me of an article in the Washington Post mag from a week or so ago, about a woman who does custom canes:

Yes, it was custom - my friend Drennan made it when I was getting knee surgery. In addition to being beautiful, it’s precisely the right height for me and fits exactly into my hand - great work. He was an extraordinary metalworker.
