Hey everyone! I finally got some pics of my niece and tell me is she not the most adorable baby you ever saw??
Her name is Hailey, she was born in Jan. 2002, and weighed just a little over 5 lbs (which suprised the docters because they were expecting a 3 lbs baby). Shortly after birth, Hailey had to undergo her first surgery to correct a birth defect called gastroschisis. She finally got to come home a month or so after being born, but her hospital days did not end there. Hailey has been in and out of 3 other surgeries due to experiencing water on the brain. Believe it or not those pictures were taken 2 days after her surgery, and she is still the happy little tike that loves to get her picture taken.

(When I saw your thread title, baby pictures were not the first thing that entered my mind. My one-and-only niece, who turns 28 today by the way, has a side career as a model. To promote herself, she created a web site with sample photos. Some of which, although tasteful, are somewhat revealing. So when I saw “Check out my niece”, you can imagine where my brain was going.)

My niece’s name is Hailey, too. But she’s a weirdo. (Almost 3 and already taking after her aunt!)

My friends’ baby had the same condition. She was in the hospital for 5 months. She’s now a normal, ornery 18-month old.
I was in a crappy mood, but Hailey’s cutie pie smile made me laugh out loud. What a great face she has!!
