Today I went to my on-line banking page to check my account and saw a debit marked VTXTLR for 20 dollars. It wasn’t a check and it wasn’t an automatic bill-pay. I already sent an e-mail to the bank, but thought maybe some of y’all might be able to shed some light on this before I hear back from them.
I was in the bank today and just asked the teller to change two twenties and a ten into a nice looking 50 for someone’s birthday, but please don’t tell me charged me 20 bucks for that!
Do you have a commercial account, or a personal account?
(banks are vicious to their small business customers - I was once involved in trying to find “cheaters” who were using their personal accounts to run a business)
now you know why larger branches have tellers dedicated to “commercial” accounts (and, yes, they do charge for change)
Let me ask something here: before swapping your bills, did the tell make you give him/her you name or account number? If so, it may be a good time to shop for another bank.
My bank is one of those huge ones – it has a stadium in Arizona. I’ve gone in many times for a notary, and they only bother to ask if I have an account, with no other questions asked!
Sorry, y’all! What happened was that I had written somjeone a check for exactly 20 dollars, hbut instead of listing the check number and “View” they only listed to amount and that code. It has since been corrected. The person I wrote the check to, went to an inside teller to cash it and the customer service rep said that sometimes the check number “just falls off”.
Thanks. Sorry to be so late in answering, but I haven’t felt well and haven’t been online since my last post.
