Cheesecake Factory? Feh. What we need...

Here y’ go: Mr. Tod’s Pie Factory

You can get buttermilk AND coconut! And this guy actually knows how to make a good pie crust. As good as I make myself, and that’s sayin’ something. Uses imported butter. Mmmmmmm…

I want pie. I almost bought a pie this morning and I didn’t and my regret is bitter.
Bitter.

Butter makes it better.

The person who started this thread is clearly high on crack. Cheesecake is soooo superior to pie. There are really only about 2 or 3 edible pies, the rest all being scattered on the scale from “meh” to “eeeewwwww”. And that’s not just my opinion–it’s a fact and if you disagree it’s because you’re WRONG.

The above “creamy custard pie” sounds like it’s probably about the worst offender, considering that “custard” is really just secret code for “phlegm” at least by taste and texture.

I do adore pumpkin pie though. MMmmmmmm…

I’ll bring some pie. When I come back.
flees for her life

But I like the Cheesecake Factory. Especially the burgers and the fabulous chocolate cake.

No one’s mentioned straight rhubarb pie. So tart and so yummy!

At the last PNW Dopefest, I brought a (farmers’ market-bought) rhubard/pineapple pie. It sounded really weird (which of course is why I had to get it in the first place), but the combination worked surprisingly well.

Hey, cool–they have a web site now

One time, AND ONLY ONE TIME, I procured what was the absolutest best pie that has ever come in to my pie-lovin’ hands, and mouth. Double crust, red raspberry pie. Pastry so flaky, it must’ve been made by angels, and a filling of the most toothsome sweet/tart raspberries imaginable. If anyone is in the North Salem, NY area[?] there’s an apple orchard farmstand where this ethereal delight may be had. Wish I could remember the name. Think they ship?

Does anyone remember a pie place during the 60’s- early 70’s called “4 and 20”?
I think they’re long gone, but if ever I was gonna open a pie place, I’d snag the name.

How could you post that.

You need therapy…lots and lots of therapy.

And Weight Watchers.

30+ posts and not a Weebl reference in sight. Astounding.

Homemade apple pie is the best. THE BEST. And I’ll fight the person who says otherwise.

Storebought and restaurant apple pies, OTOH, are sugar-filled rubbish.

I’m sorry, you are sorely mistaken.

  1. Me like pie. Mmmm Pie.
  2. Cheesecake is an abomination of nature, unfit for human consumption. I don’t care what my wife, her entire family, and (it seems) the majority of the human race say.
  3. Ummm… Hi.

You are so right. Now. Tell me. How wrong is it that the closest one to my home is also in the same shopping center as my gym?

In that case, cheesecake is actually pie. Personally, I rate cheesecake higher than pie on some days, but lower on others. It just depends on how I’m feeling.

Anyway, doesn’t the Cheesecake Factory actually have some pies as well?

Cheesecake Factory also has a rude marketing gimmick. They found out that a “line outside the door” meant "hard to get into and thus desireable’ to a good number of dudes polled. Thus they design and set up things so that their customers are kept waiting in lines outside.

Since i hate lines- and really hate nasty little tactics like this- i don’t eat there.

Gyrate needs glasses!

I need pie. Pie, pie, pie, pie, pie, pie, PIE!

Mom made a lovely “Chess” pie. Ambosia! Sis Julie lives for Apple Pie. Dad loves “Mincemeat” Pie. I prefer pumpkin cheesecake, French Silk Pie, and any berry pie.

San Diego, CA, interestingly enough, has some establishments that most locals agree are the very best at what they do in the area. For example, if you want to eat Mexican food in Old Town, you go to Casa de Bandini. For a really good, commercial-quality steak, you hie yourself to Seisel’s Meats in Bay Park. For pie, there is only The Julian Pie Company. It’s not even really in San Diego, but rather 50 miles northeast or so, but the trip is worth it. A warm Dutch apple pie from that place is absurdly good. Highly recommended if you ever find yourself in these parts.

Curses!

Of course you do, Coffee:
